Locking KEYS!!!

To all that actually have the PPC-6700...I love this phone.....

only problem i am having is locking the actuall Phone Buttons....the ones to dial (the red and green buttons). I can lock the screen and the apps no problem, but if you lock the screen, hold down the Red Phone button - it will still turn off your phone and place into Airplane mode.

I am asking beacause while it was in the holster, the phone wither turns off or calls someone. I would think, locking the phone would also lock those buttons...any one have a software that will do that or know of a hack?

Try it...lock the PPC and then hold down the phone icon....it should turn off....

Yep, my phone always makes calls while in the holster. Very irritating. I'd love to know a way how to lock those buttons.

Mortsaver kills the battery.. near a 50% decrease in power over the course of a day so be warned. Wifi seems to drain less....
But yes, it does the trick, but I chose not to use it.

I solved this by going to Wal-Mart and buying a Targus case made for small cameras. I think it cost 89 cents. It is lightly padded, but it is large enough that the case does not press against the buttons. It will still be a problem if you put it in your pocket - and it makes the phone bulkier - but no more buttons get pushed.

It also leaves room to plug headphones in while it is on your belt and it covers the phone completely - no holes.

I just tried Mort Saver and the steps i provided still have the buttons for the Phone active. I change the settings with various combonations and still doesnt work...nice app tho...esp if Mort is free....

I just tried 1-pass as well and beefy as the app is, the phone buttons are still active.

just an update to all who are readin this thread....and thanks to all who responded....

the camera case sounds like the winner so far....

This didn't sound right so I tested and verified that when mortsaver is engaged there is no way to do anything until it is unocked.

Robber.... what are the setting you have on your PPC-6700 for Mortsaver?

Even though it is locked, i can still hear the "red phone" key still being depressed and if held long enough it will turn off the Phone (Airplane Mode).

Can you verify that you have done; Start>settings>buttons>lock- "lock all buttons except power"

If you have then we can move on and go through the various screens in mortsaver.

thx

You need to assign a button to MortSaver, if button is not assigned then any button will deactivate MortSaver. I have MortSaver assigned to top left button so ti unlock you press power and then button next to it. To lock you press just that button. Everything unchecked in power section and emergency exit set to 0. Works perfectly. The device is always on this way and it does eat battery at 60-80% per 24 hours. Even more with WiFi turned on all the time. BTW, I found it's best to set WiFI to turn off after 2 minutes of inactivity and to put slider to the right to save battery.

if you are not using bluetooth you can have mortsaver turn off the device as well. The battery does much better

I got car with bluetooth so I do use it a lot. It would be ideal if MortSaver was sensing that device was turned on by incoming bluetooth call and was locking the keys but not turning off the device.
