VC and Contacts questions

I have two questions;

I installed the MS Voice Command and when I give the command CALL ????, my screen shows the contact for ????. It does not initate a call.

Is there a way to put pauses in a phone number? I call several places (like airlines) where a code/pin is needed to get into their system. I cannot figure a way to put a pause in the phone number and then the pin# (or whatever is needed).

Thanks in advance

You have to tell her: Call John Smith Cell, that way she has no doubt who to call - vs. Call John Smith

To put in pauses for phone numbers (for dialing extensions etc.) just use commas. I don't remember but the comma is either 1 second or 1/2 second each. To contact my wife at her office I have to use multiple pauses and inputs but it works fine once you get the hang of it.

Is there a way to have the button on the earbuds activate Voice Command?

It did not work

I tried again and the same thing.

I think the problem might be that I do not hear anything in my headset. Myheadset is a BT Plaintronics 510.

thepla,

When she says "Call bob jones at work?" you have to say "yes" or "no" to confirm or cancel the interaction. She's actually asking a question, not making a statement.

Just a tip... "correct" and "incorrect" usually work a bit better than "yes" and "no". VC is more accurate with longer commands (more syllables).

My problem is probably that I never hear anything on my end. I clikc the button I've assigned and I can see the microphone icon. I say call ??? at home and the name pops up for me to see but I never hear anything, not on the initial click of the button or when I see the name on the screen, if I say "yes" when I see the name it does dial the phone. How do I get to hear the prompt? I'm using PPC6700 and Plantronics 510.

Make sure the PDA Volume is up on the phone. If the PDA volume is off or the phone is completly in vibrate mode, then you will not hear any prompts.

R

has anyone else gotten the PPC to dial extensions from contacts?

mine doesn't pay attention to commas after the 10 digit number

example:

(555) 121-1212,,,345

doesn't work.

The commas does work in the contacts for me. I cannot get them to stick in the voicemail phone number so that I do not have to type in the password onmy account. Is there a way to put the pauses in the voicemail phone number?
