ActiveSyncing 2nd computer

My sync to the first computer took over 1 1/2 hrs. The sync to the second computer is so far taking 3 1/2 hrs and counting. Seems to spend LOTS of time PROCESSING the Contacts, of which I have 2500.

Anyone see the same ?

I tell you, this syncing is one area a PALM trumps PPC's Activesync.

2500? Wow, I only have 250 and the first sync took under 3 minutes. You sure you don't have a bunch of attachments in your mail?

Not syncing emails. only Contacts, Calendar, Task, and Notes. In the times I do initial syncs, Contacts ususally take aboiut 90% of total sync time. Crap, I am already four plus hrs into it an only show two bars done.

Does this have to do with amt of memory free on the PPC? I have about 9 MB storage free and 23MB programs free.

I am uninstalling my voice command and internet explorer cache...now I have over 12MB free Storage. Let's see how it goes : (

ok boys and girls...I ended up freeing Storage memory up to 16MB free....and the active sync just took off and finished like a charm in no time. I guess having over 14-16MB Storage Memory free is ideal for active syncing performance, esp if you have LOTS of contacts like me. Again, Contacts seem to take up more processing power to sync than Calendar, Tasks, or Notes combined.

cheers.

BTW I'd better get that 1 gig'er purty soon !!!
