6700 and linux, either straight or through Wine/VMWare?

i'm considering ditching my XP installation altogether.

can i still sync by 6700 in linux?

either natively...

or else if through Wine... I think I read ActiveSync 3.8 works under wine... but does the 6700 need 4.0?

or else under a fully emulated XP under VMware. That should work, right?

a small bit of research shows that Wine doesn't support USB anyway, even though Active Sync 3.8 can work under Wine.

some have tried to go the serial to Bluetooth route with Wine but no dice yet...

that leaves a virtualized OS

anyone use VMWare, Virtual PC or Bochs with their 6700?

Are you using USB with VMware or Bluetooth? I can not see how to install a Bluetooth device to my VMware guest OS ?

I am running Fedora Core 4 with VMware 5.5.1 and WinXP Pro SP2 as guest OS.

Thanks....
