Question Headphone jack issues with microphone

Hi,

I searched and couldn't find anything on this - but here is my question. When I had my 6600 hooked up to my car via a FM transmitter, I was able to plug into via the mic and I was able to issue commands via voice command and the phones mic. Now it seems that I can still hear my phone and issue commands via VC, but when I call someone, they can't hear me One would think that if VC can hear me saying "call/work" and she hears me say "call/work" and I said Yes, that if she hears me and calls work, that when someone at work answered, they too could hear me. But this isn't the case. Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

It's possible that your mic's not working and that VC is picking up your voice from the mic on the phone itself..

try using the voice recorder w/ your setup - is the voice really really soft?

The idea is for the Mic on the phone to pick it all up. The only thing connected to the FM Transmitter is Left and Right, unlike the included headphones.

I'd guess that the mic isn't sensitive enough to really pick it up with that much background noice unless it's right next to your face... (is it?)

Have you tired getting an adapter like this?

(the one w/ two plugs..)

it'd allow you to plug into your fm transceiver and a headset at the same time..

I have this one that I used with the 6600:

http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~un...PPCPADPT15.htm

With the 6600, I just left me phone on the car's console and spoke from a distance and all was well. With the 6600 I can only get the VC chick to recognize my commands, but not the other person on the phone to hear me.
