Talking

Start with www.orb.com

Once it is properly set up, you can watch streaming TV from your 6700.

Install Flash using ActiveSync. A lot of web pages are unsupported with PIE. There's a great site that you should set as your homepage that links to a lot of mobile sites (and not wap sites). It's called Small Sites.

or if you have a working mythtv setup w/mythweb, you can use mythstreamtv, or mythstreamlive

http://www.mythtv.org/
http://mythstreamtv.sourceforge.net/
http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.p...thstreamTVLive

I had to adjust some stuff and create some lower bitrate settings in the web interface, but that was pretty simple

Go to www.orb.com from the computer where you have the TV Tuner installed. Set up an account, download and install ORB on the same computer (computer obviously has to be online). On your 6700, go to http://my.orb.com and log in.

You would be able to get more detailed info when you go to www.ord.com from your desktop PC.

LOL. Everyone is always worried about "the catch". When ORB first came out, they were going to charge for it. But they decided to keep it free and make money through ads. Scared me at first cause I thought I would always have to listen to an ad everytime I changed channel, but so far, the only ads I have seen have been placed nicely on the web page.

I can't wait for a Slingplayer for WM05. Nothing beats having "your" tv online.

ORB gives you Slingplayer's functionality and more. Not sure I understand what you mean?

DISCLAIMER: I do not work for ORB. I just like their product

orb is awesome, but it does not give you slingplayer functionality. slingplayer is live tv, plus complete control of your tivo, so you can schedule shows, delete, etc as if you were right in front of it. i setup a slingbox for a friend and it is awesome, the only thing holding me back is a wm5 version

Orb is pretty awesome. There are limitations to an HTML interface, and I'd kind of like it if they created a cooler interface as a standalone app for the PocketPC...

But overall I'm very happy with it. And for a free service it's outstanding.

I must be missing something here. I have a Media Center Edition PC that gives me all of Tivo's functionality. Using Orb, I am able connect to the PC to watch live TV, watch recorded shows, schedule recordings, delete, etc as if I am right in front of it. I can also listen to all my music files, view all my pictures, etc.

I use Orb and I like the idea but I find it has some usability issues. Once I start playing a Tivo downloaded show (using their Tivo Anywhere Add-on) on the 6700 I can only restart it again from the beginning. Otherwise it errors out with a network error. So unless I plan to watch the entire show all at one, I have to start each time from the beginnning. That is a drag. This is not a problem when I view the show from Windows XP only on the PPC 6700.

I am also having problems using my.orb.com to download a show from Tivo to My PC. Each time a get the following message from Orb:
Error
The operation completed successfully.

and the download never starts. Anyone else get that?

I'm a big fan of Orb also. Just the idea is great - free access to your content from anywhere (and no I don't work for them). But Orb does have some areas for improvement. I think the idea of standalone apps for specific device types and OSs to access your my.orb.com content may have some merit - it could make the user interface just look and feel smoother. This right now is my biggest complaint, apart from the occasional constant buffering I get.

Whats missing is that slingbox was designed with tivo in mind. A networked tivo can do all the things you mention, play music, pictures and it even communicates with other tivos on the network. for $1000s less than buying a media pc.
