I pasted the results from this site in a spreadsheet. It is a constantly changing list as entries over 24 hours expire. This site is mostly used for PDA performance testing. I grabbed the entries for PocketPC devices over 110K as there were some 1xRTT results as well. These are only EVDO results.
I thought there was supposed to be EVDO coverage near me, but I just get an EV icon for a few seconds once in a while then it goes away. Never hangs around.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with my Vision pack. They didn't put Power Vision on my account, just the regular pack because I don't have a business/national account. The only reason they would sell me the phone is that Microsoft arranged a special deal for us.
Unfortunately, the incompetent Sprint people don't know what Power Vision is or how to change it on my phone yet. Ugh.
Edit:
Maybe not. According to the other EVDO thread, someone else had the "EVDO/1x dance" in Redmond as well, but gets full EVDO in other areas. Guess I'll have to pay attention next time I'm in bellevue/renton/seattle/kirkland

To be clear, it has NOTHING to do with your plan. Your device will show the EV logo whenever it communicates with an EV-DO tower. It's just likely that the EV-DO tower your phone is trying to hold on to is outside of its usable range, so you keep dropping back to a (closer) 1x tower.

Give it time. Don't change your plan!

Yeah I didn't think that was the problem in the beginning, but then I started to worry
Will report back once I can check the other areas.
EVDO on smartphones is technically only available through the business channels so if you contacted consumer support, it would be no suprise that they were not yet prepared to support it.
