Moving data from g1000 to new 6700 ?

I have a question regarding the best way to move my contacts/links/calender from my old G1000 to my new 6700. I'm not an expert at activesync, I rarely use it, but here goes:

It seems to me that sync-ing the G1000 to the PC would combine the info from both Outlook on the PC and the G1000. I don't want all that info in my 6700. For example, my PPC only has a few links for mobile use, but the PC has hundreds. I don't want those all in a mobile device !
Same with contacts.
So is there a way to get just the stuff from the G1000 into the 6700 that is easy? Without dragging all the PC data along for the ride ?

Thanks for any tips!
-Les

Well not all of your PC favorites sync using ActiveSync... only the ones in the "Mobile Favorites" folder within the Favorites folder. So syncing your G first with AS, then your 6700 for that purpose shouldn't be a problem.

As for the contacts, you could just beam them over via infrared.

Edit: Wrote "contacts" in the first paragraph when I meant "favorites"

You can create a new profile in Outlook, sync your PIM from the G1000 to that profile and then sync same profile to your 6700.

Or you can backup the current profile in Outlook, delete the contacts in same profile, sync your G1000 to that profile, sync with the PPC 6700, delete content in the outlook profile, and import previous content.

Or, if you have admin rights on the PC, create a new user, log in to the PC with the new user, this will also create a new Outlook profile for that user. Sync your g1000 while logged in as new user, then sync PPC6700. Log off new user, and delete user and user profile.

Whichever route you decide to take, make sure you backup the current profile (create a backup.pst) before doing anything else.

Thanks! The new profile method looks like it worked.
Now to see if the 6700 is all that it is supposed to be
