Shopping List Program for WM5??

Anyone know of a good shopping list program, with sync/desktop companion that will run on the 6700? I was using SplashShopper on the Palm previously and loved it.... I miss it on the PPC. Any ideas?

You might want to check out http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.htm
I haven't tried it ,but may look into it one of these days, looks nice. I'm testing their newsbreak software which is nicely done.

I used Splash Shopper too when I had my Treo 600. I guess the other main shopping program for the Palm was HandyShopper. There is an alpha version of HandyShopper for PPC at this link:

http://chrisant.home.comcast.net/hs3/hs3ppc.htm

I've used this for several months and it works great, but I'm not sure if it's being actively developed or not. For an alpha version, I have had zero problems with it. I like it better than Splash Shopper I used to use.

(Well, I got this far into the message, and realized you had asked about one with desktop synch, which HandyShopper doesn't have. Oh well, I'll throw it out anyway.)

ListPro is nice, but not free. I use it and like it, but I've never tried any others either. I did see some free lists on www.freewareppc.com. Also, there are cheaper alternatives to listpro too. try browing www.handango.com to find them.

I was looking for the same thing. I found a lot of programs that did/had way too much stuff and were difficult to use.

So, I decided to write one.

The discussion of the birth and growth of the program can be found here.

Current version is 1.0 and 1.1 is currently being tested with quite a few enhancements.

This looks great! Have you decided whether or not to release it? ANd if so, where can I get it?

Version 1.1 is out.

Upgrading from a previous version:
We have had problems with installing to the PPC after attempting to uninstall a previous version. Follow the following list to make it work. Sorry about this, am not sure what it is with MS’ install/uninstall yet.
  1. On the device, uninstall from the Remove Programs in Settings.
  2. Using your preferred file manager, browse to the previous install directory and delete all files except for the .lst files.
  3. Install new version.
  4. Open ActiveSync
  5. Tools|Add/Remove Programs
  6. Highlight dillSoftPPCShoppingList
  7. Click Remove

Try a normal uninstall/install first. You will not hurt anything. Leaving the lst files will keep the lists. The uninstall/install process has not killed any lists in testing, so they should be fine. Copy them off to another directory if you really want to be safe (PC and PPC).

If anyone knows someone with another WM5 device, I'd love to hear if this works on phones besides our 6700.

Version History
Known Issues:
  • PPC version crashes when deleting the last Location or Item on the Edit screen. The delete works. Just restart the program for now.

Planned Changes:
  • Make the Edit List form on the PC version more user friendly.

Version 1.1:
ShoppingList -
  • Added Print and Print Preview
  • Added Menu Item to Sync Now instead of having to undock/dock the device
  • Added Notes Field
  • Change so that when an item in the list is selected the Fields on top repopulate so Qty and Notes can be changed
  • Reordered menu items a bit
  • Save and load lists so frequently used items can be brought in quickly

PPCShoppingList -
  • Changed Location Deletion to Tap-N-Hold Menu on Location Dropdown Box
  • Changed Item Deletion to Tap-N-Hold Menu on Item Dropdown Box
  • Added Delete single List Item with Tap-N-Hold Menu
  • Removed above Delete Submenus from the Delete Menu
  • Changed Delete Menu to "Del Chk'd"
  • Added Notes Field
  • Added Tap-N-Hold Menu on the list of the Edit Screen to add/change notes
  • Added View Notes/Close Notes to right soft menu button to keep one handed operation on the main screen
  • Added Pop-up Note View on the Main Screen

Version 1.0:
  • Initial Release

Attention downloaders

Sorry everyone. If you downloaded this morning's version 1.1 of the full install (msi file installed from the PC), you will either need to download again and reinstall or just add the following registry key to the PC:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\dillSoft.com\ShoppingList

This affects anyone that downloaded before 6/24/06 - 2:00pm CST.
