Sprint Shipping Times

Hello all. I ordered the 6700 today at noon EST. I was always told that if you order a phone before 4pm EST it will ship the same day. I spoke to someone from shipping and she said that UPS shipments are picked up at 11:00am. Can anyone confirms this?

Thanks for any help. Nothing like waiting the entire weekend.

When mine finally shipped, it was shipped overnight. I ordered it on a Tuesday around 1 EST. There was a tracking number issued about 1pm or so the next day. The tracking number was invalid until about 11pm that night. I received it the next day (Thursday) around 1pm.

New here... Been reading a lot of info here on the 6700, and decided to get one. Ordered yesterday, 9-28-05, and sitting here waiting for the UPS guy today, 9-29-05. Have a confirmed TN and Delivery date with UPS today!

I was not able to get a tracking number, but if I can at least confirm what time UPS picks up from Sprint then maybe the phone will ship today.

You can't confirm the phone ships until you have a tracking number. Most of us had a tracking number before UPS actually took hold of the shipment. That is why when you tried to track it on UPS.com, it gave you an error.

From my experience, as well as many others, as soon as it was ready for UPS to pick up the shipment, a tracking number was issued and available to a Sprint CS rep.

It just arrived as I was told it would... I have alot of testing to do! As for getting a UPS tracking number, call this number at Sprint, 1-866-404-1335. They will need the order number, phone number, etc. They can tell you if it shipped and give you the UPS tracking number.

Because most larger shippers use UPS Worldship (as my co does), here's the low-down on tracking numbers ...

As soon as the shipping record is sent to the UPS Data Center, either by the driver (scan) or the shipper (electronic file), the tracking number becomes visible to UPS, however, not until there is an incoming scan within a UPS hub is that tracking number useful by providing information about just where in the process of shipping your package is located. Generally, the tracking number will not be useful until after 11PM-Midnight local time. Sometimes later, which is why many times you'll have the package in your hands before you realize the tracking number is useful. Clear as mud?

Thanks. I just wanted to know if anyone has been told by Sprint that if you order a phone by a certain time of the day, it will ship same day. I have ordered numerous phones in the past and was told that orders process before 4pm EST will ship same day, but today I have been told that orders processed before 11am EST will be shipped same day. You know Sprint, each CS rep gives you different info.

I ordered a standard phone (MM-2300) last week. It arrived the next day & I received a tracking number on the phone while ordering. With my 6700, I was unable to get a tracking number & was told once it ships, it is overnight, but it may not ship for a few days. Depends on the warehouse they said.
I was not able to pick a phone number either. They said it will ship with one. Never heard of that, but I was OK with it since two different CSR's told me this.
I checked my Sprintpcs account and saw that I do in fact have a new phone number added. Not sure when the phone will arrive, but I am hoping it will be today or tomorrow.

1pm EST was what I was told. 4pm sounds possilble, but not probable with the confusion surrounding this device. If I was in your shoes, I would expect the device Monday, plan for it to come Monday, and if it ships out tonight, be suprised.

I was told when i ordered way back when that shipments went out at 11am and 5pm from the warehouse. Not sure if that's eastern or mountain time, but 11am sounds right. I got to know one of the reps pretty well since i called about 20 times a day when i was waiting for my tracking number, so yours may go out today. My tracking number wasn't valid until the next day, so don't get upset if it's not in the system when they give it to you.

I want to say I ordered mine between 11am and 12 EST yesterday, and it was shipped overnight, and now the next day I have it. I have heard before 4 also!

The phone worked right out of the box. I dialed my other cell number from the 6700, and it went right on through! No set up with Sprint!

Onceler, I, like others, hate waiting. Although, I am glad to be receiving one. Hopefully I like it!

Thanks again.. This forum seems to be the only place to get true info. I have been a member since 2003 when I purchased the Samsung I330, then i500, treo 600, treo 650 and now the 6700.

Ordered mine on a Sunday of all days, and had it in my grubby little paws on a Tuesday afternoon. Only took about an hour after programming it over the phone with a Sprint rep for my number to get moved from my old Sprint phone to the new one.

Ah, sorry. My story is in another thread

I called the Corporate Office & told them my scoop... They asked why I could not get it on a city plan since I work for a city. I told them that I tried that already and the CSR said "no". She told me to hang on & transfered me to the business division. It was fast too. She said hang on & next moment a rep answered.
He was able to order me one on my personal account with the addition of a business vision pack, just based on the fact that I am a city employee. The bonus to all this is I now receive a 15% discount on my monthly bill too!
Persisence paid off, not as I thought... It turns out that persistence got me correct information! So, I was able to get one without having to make up a business account. Kinda cool.

When I checked costs of the product today, the lady in online ordering told me I can do standard 2-3 day UPS or overnight, which costs about $13 more.

Are people here seeing a difference?
