Keyboard backlight not perfect?

I remember seeing pics around here somewhere, but I can't find them after an hour of searching....

There's no backlight to illuminate the T, Y, G, and H buttons on my 6700. Is this normal? And what would you recommend to do to get it fixed?

I'm worried about bringing it in to a Sprint store because A) they probably don't even stock them yet, and B) I'll get a refurbished model instead of a new one.

It's only a few days old and was like this from day 1.

Help!

Someone else on this forum had a different problem and they sent them a new phone. Good luck.

Hmm.. Mine is the same way. I thought it was normal, and that the lights under those keys were just not as bright. Let me know what you find out.

Absolutely true here as well. I also noticed that when teh lighting situation you are in is dim and not dark, it is very difficult to see the keyboards letters based on the way they are lit and coloered. ANyone else?

gameboy213: I don't really have issues with the other letters, just those 4.

I just took a close look at mine and here is what I think it is. They don't have individual lights for each key, its looks to me like they have a couple of lights in the keyboard and they use the light "spread" to light up all keys. However, some keys that are farther away from the light source are dimmer. Mine are definitely dimmer than the keys on the right and left sides which is where I suspect the light sources are but they are still lit up. Yours may have a little less light spread so you have significantly less light reaching those center keys.

Just my $.02

I think that is exactly the case..........
it is more than just 4 keys for me....... when the lighting is dim and not dark it is difficult to see.

Not necessary. Go to Setting/Buttons/scroll over to Backlight and un-check, "Enable Keyboard Backlight"
