Recording phone conversations (both sides)??

Is there a way of using the record function to actually record both sides of a phone call? It seems to record it only when using the speaker phone.

I would like to know this also. It seems that the only one recorded is the 6700 side of the call (at least from a head phone). My G1000 would do both sides so this is a little disappointing.

Yea, we delt with this issue with the 6600. I do not think there was ever a fix. Basically all it does it record analog through the mic, so that is why if you put it on speakerphone and the room is quiet enough you can hear both sides. You would think that there would be a hack of some sort for this. I think it would be a useful tool not because I want to catch someone saying something they shouldnt have, but because it would get me out of making notes. It is legal where I live to record a conversation as long as there is one party on the phone that knows that it is being recorded.

any one used the resco recorder? does it run into the same issue of being mfr limited to only mic pick up. audio bay has a podcasting solution...I wonder if theirs works.

i love the phones feature to record voice converstions , saved me alot of money with my car once. the mechanic had no choice but to replace my part. had him recorder when he said a certain thing to me .

simply ....
1.) dial the number
2.) go to notes.
3.) click record in notes and your off and recording your conversaation with regualrt speaking on your phone.
4.) when the converstion is over rename it

5.)*** i would go into options on your notes menu and change your saving direcxtory to storage card this way if the conversation is an hour long you will not run into memory problems. ****

I used this with the first rom; not sure how it performs with the new one.

dont buy or install any unused or wasted space on your ppc . this WORKS!!!
go to notes the record button is at the bottom

Your phone has to be in speakerphone mode sorry forgot to mention. this records perfectly. do it everytime i call sprint customer service. they love it when i send over the conversation in email form . lol

NO PROGRAMS NEEDED!!!! JUST A WASTE OF MONEY OR SPACE.

I've communicated with the developers of PMRecorder a few times. The recorder will only record both sides of the conversation when using speaker phone. It does still record using the handset or BT but the other party's dialogue is not picked up very well. This is an issue with the hardware. According to the developers, they and Microsoft are working with HTC to overcome this so that you can record well even without the speaker phone.

I have been waiting to get the new rom bc i have seen and heard so many have problems with various functions on their phones and bc i cant get sprite working and i would like to have it all backed up before i try the new rom.

That being said, if it works better over speaker phone to record then maybe i try it that way first. but if you are saying it still works on both ends without the speakerphone and it is acceptable sound level wise then it will be worth me getting the new rom bc i thought the speakerphone on this phone was no good ? you all get good recordings off of it ? i would much rather be able to use my wired headset if i knew i was going to be recording the call.

Part of the reason i ask is because i would like to be able to podcast with this feature for when i do interviews.

Saves as wavs right ?

Thoughts?

The recordings pretty much stink if you don't use the speakerphone. You can hear your side of the conversation but not the other party. I've tried editing the wav file using wavepad and it helps but not enough for my liking.

so if you get the recorder, it is any better or have any better than just using the built in recorder with the notes? especially if i have to use the speakerphone?

i am having a hard time thinking that you are all getting decent results talking into and listening to the speakerphone just because it sounds echoey and too easy to tlk over others when it is enabled. but if that is the only way then i guess i will have to try it since i dont need the new rom to do that.

guys listne speakerphone , sounds perfect. better then the interviews you hear on tv. it's not a big deal. click the little tiny speaker phone before you press record and you will be left with a perfectly clear non echo , recording of the conversation you just had .
