SSH client

Anyone know of a WORKING ssh client for the 6700? Pocket putty appears to not be working (unless someone else is getting better luck than me).

Thanks for any links...

Hopefully I will be getting mine in a few days, that is definetely on my short list of things to get working as I can't SSH to my personal server from work due to proxy. Keep me informed if you find something.

Note: pocket putty 0.1 WORKS! But not 0.2! It will not auto connect however so you must connect first...

Does this mean that I need to run IE first? Because when I ran pocket putty 0.1, I could enter the IP but there was no connect button, just cancel...

Connect first (using IE is fine). Then after you put the IP in just click ok in the top right. It is weird but that is how you get it to connect.

Pocket Putty Alternative?

Is there an alternative to Pocket Putty alpha 0.1? 0.2 would be nice...

does pocket putty support ssh2.0? Also, can anyone recommend a good win32 ssh2.0 client?

PuTTY is a super win32 ssh2 client. I use it all day. It'll be the "I feel lucky" hit in Google for "putty ssh"...

SSH is a must-have for me on this PPC. Thanks for your posts here with info.

Pocket putty .1 works for me..

also check out openssh - http://www.uni-bonn.de/~bbrings/ - it does require making a /etc directory on your ppc (or using reg entrees to make diff directory name..) - but works fine.

pockettty doesn't work right (when you rotate which you will for keyboard, it only takes up half the screen - the company has a beta in the works though...

PocketPuTTY-v0.1-preapha-0.53b works for me as well. However, the latency over EVDO makes using painful. Add to that the layout of the keyboard (numbers and commonly used shell characters require red dot + key) and the small screen and even over wifi i find it more of a novelty than a useful tool.

What does SSH stand for? And how is it used?

lazu, huh? google is your friend...

ssh = secure shell

basically, an encrypted telnet session. Use it for logging into unix/linux machines

On Sunday, I emailed dejavusoftware.com regarding PockeTTY 2.0 (the beta) and WM5. I'll let you know what they say...

I've been using: PocketPuTTY-v0.1-preapha-0.53b.zip

with no issues at all.
