how do I transfer my Treo / 7135 / Palm / PalmOS data to 6700 / WM5 / PPC ??

My 6700 should be arriving in the next couple of days. I'm switching from a Palm based PDA and I'm using the Palm Desktop not Outlook. Can anyone tell me the best way to get my data into the new PPC device and Outlook or point me to where this has been discussed?

There are several ways.

In Palm Desktop, for each PIM app, go to File-Export and save in .csv format. Import into Outlook. I'm not sure how clean this will be.

If this doesn't cleanly do it and you have a Yahoo mail account, you can download Intellisync for free.

Sync Palm to Yahoo PIM via Intellisync. Then change the Intellisync settings to do Yahoo PIM to Outlook sync. Next time you Activesync, you'll hopefully have everything in the 6700.

Thanks for the answers. Doesn't look like it should be too hard.

you can export from palm desktop and into outlook(what the pocketpc uses)

or once you have outlook on your machine (will come with your ppc) you can prolly use the cd that came with your palm device to switch to syncing with outlook
if you have a treo650 or tungsten E, just put in the cd and click "change syncronization method"
if you have any other palm, look on your palms cd for a product called pocketmirror.
if you cant find it you can buy it at http://www.chapura.com

How do I transfer Contacts (and other things) from Treo 600??

I'm getting a PPC 6700 and I would like to know if there is a way to transfer my contact from my treo 600 to PPC 6700 (like through MS Outlook or anything else). Also I'll be buying my 6700 next week. If anyone wants to sell one let me know here and I'll post my Email address so you can contact me. thanx.

Just sync your 600 to outlook, then when you get your 6700 do the same with activesync. That's it, very easy

Question Best way to transfer data to new 6700 from Palm?

Hi folks, after some good advice from some people on the pdaphonehome forums, I replaced my aging Kyocera 7135 with a new PPC 6700 on Alltel.

Does anyone have some good advice on the best way to transfer all my data (not programs, although I might try that) to my new phone? Phone numbers, text messages, calendar entries, etc.?

Any alternatives to cutting and pasting on my computer and then syncing? Thanks for your ideas; sorry if this's been addressed before, it seems like an obvious question, but if there were any posts on this subject I missed them.

----------

Oh, here it is! Apparently I need to work on my search skills. Thanks for moving my message.
