I made the switch, I thing the 6700 is easier to use except;
1. that although poorly implemented, I miss the speaker phone button.
2. The G1000's screen, being bigger was easier to see in my car.
3. Standard SD memory, havent bought a mini SD but its coming.
4. The G1000 had those speed buttons on the today screen.
5. Activesync 4.0 stinks.
6. Its nice to be able to charge the 6700 with a standard USB cable.
I'm looking to dive back into a smartphone and not go with my corporate crackberrry. I had a G1000 and loved, loved, loved it (with a few caveats about the keyboard lighting,...)
Is the PPC 6700 a worthy replacement? What's the real performance like? THe samples I've played with were a little pokey... That could just been store demo units with too much junk running...
I think you need some time reading the forum and your questions will be answered. There is no way really to compare the G1000 with the 6700. The G1000 has no advantanges over the 6700 whatsoever, unless you are in a fight and need a phone big enough to knock someone out with.

But I will tell you this much......I remember a time when lots of us couldnt wait for the G1000 to land on our doorstep. Of course we wanted to trade it in the very next day for the I700, but thats what makes the world go round and round.
Brings back memories of an afternoon long ago when I walked in to an office of a buddy of mine and he was holding a 17" LCD up to his ear and said "This is Tony.. Hello, Hello". First time I realized what the non-techies of the world saw when I whipped out the G.
