Bluetooth Stereo Headphones on 6700

I previously used my HP Bluetooth Headphones with my PPC-6601 without any problems, using the Broadcom patch that enabled the HQ Audio profile.

But the 6700 doesn't seem to support that service. Has anyone had any luck getting it to work?

The Broadcom patch only works for PPCs with the Broadcom stack. So far, all WM5 devices run on the Microsoft stack, so the patch doesn't apply to the 6700.

The 6700 has NO built-in support for A2DP (HQ Audio Profile). There are rumors that Microsoft is updating its Bluetooth stack to include A2DP and other profiles, but when it will be released (or even if it is true) is anyone's guess.

Note, however because the 6700 has a correctly-implemented audio gateway driver, you can listen to audio via a normal (monaural) bluetooth headset. The quality is atrocious and in no way approaches what you would get from headphones or a wired headset, but it is something, anyway.

Thanks Dan.

I didn't think it was using the Broadcom stack. Guess I'll have to go pester the Mobile Devices guys about adding this support.
