Updating PRL to get latest EVDO sites

Anyone know how to update the PRL on a 6700? It would be necessary to get the latest Sprint EVDO sites. From what I understand, Sprint's PRL has many future expected EVDO sites already in the list. But if there are new ones, it would be neccessary to update the PRL. Phones do update PRL automatically once in a while but as fast as EVDO rolls out and new towers being added, it may make sense to update if you are not getting EVDO in a market designated as such.

I am not aware of any updated PRLs for the 6700. Furthermore, it remains to be seen how Sprint is going to issue PRL updates for EV-DO handsets. Their current OTA system seems to only work for devices that use the 1XXXX PRLs.

For the Treo 650, you can dial ##DATA and there is a menu item to update the Vision Profile. This updates the PRL from what I understand. Would this work on the 6700?

For Sprint data cards, there is also a software option to update the profile.

There are a variety of ways to update programming on the 6700, what he is saying is no one knows for certain if sprint needs to update their OTA update system to work with this phones using a EVDO prl.

What is the dial command to see what PRL you are currently on? It would be interesting for everyone to report the PRL version. It may explain why some get EVDO but others do not in the same area.

You can also do Setting/System Tab/Device Information to see your PRL.

    Updated to 20216

I just got an update OTA to 20216.

I'll keep an eye open for anything singificantly different or unusual.

Call CS. They will flag the phone.

Call back as soon as you finish the first time and let the OTA work. It might take a few retrys to get it to update, but when it goes through, the phone will reset and have the new PRL working.

Now if they'd only issue a bug-fix update...
