SmallMenu conflict with Disable Animated Menus hack?
Can anyone verify this?
It appears I am mistaken. SmallMenu has continued to act up. I restored the hack and there is no change. I had to uninstall and soft reset 3-4 times ...now it seems stable and functional.

SmallMenu conflict with Disable Animated Menus hack?
This is not really about a program that doens't work, but about a conflict I am seeing.
I'm having trouble with SmallMenu and the Disable Menu Animation hack:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu
Change the value of "AniType" from 6 (default) to 0.
This disables the menu animation.
When I have menu animations disabled, SmallMenu will not run after a soft reset (cannot be launched). Also, the whole system becomes unnavigable using File Explorer, or the programs or settings explorer. Items selected "unselect" or don't hold. Attempting to open an item may open another item. Windows won't close. Menus won't hold. One particular thing to try with the hack on (animated menus disabled) and SmallMenu installed is to try to assign buttons. Popup menus won't hold.
I renabled menu animation and everything returns to normal.
I've tried this with SmallMenu versions 318 and 319, and with and without the tGetFile.dll installed.
So SmallMenu works fine without the hack. I could mention that I am running other hacks, and haven't tried eliminating them, but I thought immediately and first to try to reverse the menu animation hack, and it resolved the issue.
Apologies for the strange posting sequence. I came back to quote myself and hit edit, which greatly shortened the original post. I then tried to restore it using the back button on the browser but it ended up posting the original somewhere down the line. I'm going to give up on trying to straighten it out.
So, read the second post first, and the first post second, and this third.
Apparently the Think Outside Stowaway IR Keyboard driver is faulty under WM5, too. I posted about this in the rest of the forum, and am investigating an update, but it doesn't look so good. I don't think they care much about the IR users with their BT product flying off shelves.
EDIT (03.04.06): I just downloaded the PDF for the Bluetooth keyboard, and apparently, Think Outside has included WM5 support for all their wireless devices within the one driver package. So I was able to get my infrared keyboard up and running with no problem. I downloaded the single driver, and upon a soft reset, the device asked me which product I wanted to set up.
Still curious that absolutely no mention of this was made on the Think Outside site. Perhaps by obscuring the other driver functionality at first glance, you'll run out and upgrade to a BT model? (I briefly considered it, until logic got the better of me...)

Reason: Driver Update
Agile Messenger- Seems to work. When you put it in landscape mode, the chat screen gets cut off and you can't read parts of the sentences. that sucks... or in other words, it doesn't work! very well
To fix this problem, go into Agile and tell it to Exit from the Options menu. It should drop out and put you back on the Today page. It'll still be on your Today page, but that is fine. Flip open the keyboard to put it in landscape mode (Or manually set to landscape mode). Click on Agile Messenger on the Today page while still in landscape mode. You no longer have the chopped screen in landscape mode.
Skype 2.0.0.50
- Caused about a 1 minute freeze immediately after install. As instructed by another thread I navigated to the install folder on the SD card which temporarily fixed the issue.
- Caused a 1-2 minute freeze after a soft reset. It did this consistently when soft resetting and then attempting to click the start menu.
Once I uninstalled Skype no more freezing and overall faster system performance. Anyone else have similiar experiences?

The delay/freeze is caused by trying to load the icon. The icon for PPC executables are defined at the very end of the file so if the executable is huge (like Skype), it will take a while before it loads (like in startmenu or programs menu).
adobe reader 2.0 cannot open email pdf attachment directly. it will attempt to open then close the app itself. if i save the attachment to a file then i can oppen it direstly.. i just did a hard reset and clean install, still no help. i have doth attachment save to mini sd and adobe install in mini sd as well. any thought for help??
I had similar problems. I emailed Adobe and they said that the reader can only open PDF's that are in "My Documents." I moved my PDF's and now they open fine from main memory or the card.
Sadly my favorite game won't work with 6700, 'cause the buttons needed to work the game aren't there unless you pull out the keyboard; however, the game won't rotate to landscape mode. I hope a newer version will come out that uses the two buttons next to the start and ok buttons, then life would be good again.
- SPB Weather 1.1.1 works perfectly fine on 6700 now. Not sure which version was being used before. It still won't autoconnect to EVDO but will update when connected to PC. I think it might also update when IE forces EVDO to connect.
- Skype 1.2 works fine on 6700. It also will not attempt to autoconnect to EVDO, but if you start IE first and force the EVDO connection to start, then close IE and start Skype, it will work fine... at least it did on my phone. My friend installed skype but after starting skype he said it would crash after like 10 secs. Not sure what was different about his phone than mine, he had a lot more crap installed tho, maybe something conflicted.
SPB weather might not work but Tonaya Weather to go does. And it's free.. http://www.tonaya.com

Novii Remote DOES work... So does their Tech Support

Actually, Novii Remote Deluxe works...
But you have to start the program in the DEFAULT Portrait Mode with the 240x320 button selected, even though the 6700 IR port is on the left. Once you get the skins and buttons to work in portrait mode, you can flip the screen view so that the IR port is facing your TV or other device. If you hook the 4th finger of your right hand around the antenna, you get a really solid hold for running the program buttons.
You also have to start-up the program in DEFAULT IR or problems may show up. I didn't have any IR recognition issues.
What I had were learning curve issues! And I have never run into a more supportive CS or tech support group. Novii was answering my emails at 12AM on Monday mornings and 7AM on Sundays. They kept working with me until I got clued into what I wasn't able to figure out. After all that great assistance, I wanted to buy the program just to say thank you.
It is very cleverly engineered and allows very creative remote-control designing options. And even better builds are coming. Like I told them, I have been having more fun with it than i have with computer games or crossword puzzles.
