Anybody else still on the fence?

im almost ready to pull the trigger on the phone.....but the whole "might lose grandfathered vision" and "no picture mail or vido mail" has me thinking twice..

if you are on the fence for grandfathered vision... it seems that with EV-DO, if you purchase a device (at least pda device) that supports EV-DO, you will loose the gf vision. To me, I would rather have a pda device with high speed than have grandfathered vision.

I might wait for the Treo 670 if it comes out soon. It apparently will have WinMobile 5.

All I am saying is that if the reports are correct, you probably will be limited to existing devices. Any new EV-DO device will probably have the same results as this in that they will attempt to force you off your free vision.

I'm waiting at least until Monday to see what Palm has to say. Of course I don't expect they will say much of anything. Maybe MW5 Treo with EVDO but I'm sure no WIFI. They just can't seem to give us the device with it all.

I'm gf'd and a few others are also. We didn't loose the gf vision and we've got EVDO speeds.

Yep, there is NO reason why they have to change any data codes on your account. If they say they have to, say no thankyou, call back and get someone else.

Agreeing to that is not required.

Shadow is right. Call back until tou get someone to do the ESN swap.

Unless times have changed, the Customer Service Reps are required to sell services (i.e., long distance, voice command etc.). I'll bet getting you to switch to something more expensive is just another way for the reps to meet their quota.

I am still on the fence until I find out how this puppy works as a game player. And no, I'm not talking about Solitaire.

I just called in and did an ESN swap like I have done a zillion times before. No upselling or changing plans. I have yet to test EVDO because it does not appear to be on here in Pittsburgh yet. I will try it out at the airport tomorrow.

Haha when you said rom games I thought you meant the ones that come preloaded in the rom. Yeah, nes and snes games will work fine for what I want to know: Can you move diagonally using the navigation pad? This should be a no-brainer for the manufacturer, but the i730 fails this test.

I am going to take the "wait and see" approach to the 6700. I recently managed to get Sprint upgrade me to a 6600 from a G1000 that was still under warranty.

I just spent tones of cash buying accessories for the 6600, some of which may not transfer to the new device.

So, I'm gonna see what all you all saying about this new thing over then next month or so before I jump.

well I guess this made up my mind. Engadget has the scoop on the new Treo 700w, but 240 x 240 screen, no built in WIFI. 6700 is looking like the way to go.
