I just recieved my new device today.. Was curious. Has anyone tried or know of any IM client that will install on WM5? Im wondering if they have something similar to MSN that its bundled with where you can be alerted while phone is idle or in another program.
I insalled Verichat 1.32 from their website and have had no problems so far. I've been using it on the 6700 for about an hour now and nothing odd happening yet.

kewl... does it work well in standbye mode? can ur phone be in holster or be in another app and still get alerts like the treo? ( if u've ever seen how it works on treo ~ always on mode)
Yes, I know the 1.32 has that feature (paging mode) being logged in and getting txt msgs if you log out AND still get the msg (bubble msg) while you are using another app.
I have it on the t650 and it works great on that as well.
I had to turn it off though on the t650...people thought i was on all the time...

I have an old version of Agile Messennger that is working fine. Also, you can do AIM through SMS. Go to mobile.aol.com and find out how. I like it because, with unlimited SMS, you don't need to use Vision/EVDO and chew up your battery doing IM. The downside is that you have to remember all of these numeric codes. To start, send a text message to 265000 with your AIM screen name, a space, and your password. That will log you in and then you will receive a text message telling you who's online in your buddy list. To learn more, you can send a text message to 265018 with "help" in the body of the message, and then you will receive 6 messages with everything you need to know about how to run AIM through SMS. You must have AIM forwarding activated to run this.
I have Determined that AGILE MESSAGNER WORKS GREAT ont his phone in landscape and regular mode....... you guys should try it they fixed alot of bugs and so has verichat... but verichat doesnt seem soo streamlined as agile

Does Agile charge now? Something about 2.99 pounds a month for the newer version. Only problem I had with AGILE was the amount of battery life eaten up. I stay logged in all day, is it still bad?
not sure running the tests right now... calling my phone seeing when it disconnects and auto connects thats all i cared about right now..... i want AIM to be connected all day long....

Agile looks nice .. If it works in standby thats all I truely want. I tried to install Verichat thats posted on pdaapps onto my 6700 and I couldnt find the application anywhere after install. ANy clue?
Agile leaves you logged in all of the time but sometimes it randomly disconnects and you have to log in again. I wish Verichat worked more like it does on the Palm, where it uses SMS to wake up Verichat if you are doing something else. You don't end up polling using data all the time and chewing up valuable battery power.
I played around with it last night. I got 1.32 by changing the url of the download to 1.34 to 1.32 AND 1.33. Verichat doesn't work well on my device. Messages stop coming through and stop showing up. If I send one using the PPC, I got it on my desktop but couldn't see it on the PPC. If I send one from my desktop to the PPC it never comes through. AND offline IMing doesn't work like it did for the TREO and that is the number one reason I never used Verichat when it last came out.
