I have a axim 50v, can I use new 6700

I just finished ordering the 6700 over the phone (and not a businnes account), nice rep waived next day mail as well.

My question is
1) can I use all ppc apps on my 6700 such as ilaunher, informant, epocrates, skyscape, tcmpc, etc
2) do regular headsets fit on it?
3) will dell gps unit plug into it?
4) is it faster than the axim 50v

most important..

can I active sync both on the same pc?

any help to any question greatly appreciated.

by the way rebate for old customers is mail in only.

take care and nice to join your erudite community!

That will depend on how the programers wrote each app, many apps will work on the new windows mobile 2005 but not all.

here is a link to a list of WM2005 compatible software:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=720970

it takes 2.5mm headsets. If you want to use a normal sized headphone plug )3.5mm) you will need an adapter (very cheap).

3) will dell gps unit plug into it?

If it is bluetooth it should work fine.

4) is it faster than the axim 50v

x50v: 624mhz
ppc-6700: 400mhz
So no, but it should be more than fast enough for day to day use, video playback and games.

The PPC-6700 needs activesync 4.0 since it is windows mobile 2005, I dont think you can have both the older version of activesync for you axim and the newer one for the ppc-6700 installed at the same time. You may be able to sync the axim with activesync 4.0 but I dont know definatively.

Others have reported AS 4.0 working with WM2003 (the 6600) but many have had problems with AS 4.0. AS 4.0 also does not have network sync so no wifi activesync. Here is a little info on multiple pocket pc syncing to the same Desktop.

Even thought the x50v has a faster processor the VGA screen slows thing down. I would expect the 6700 to be a little quicker.
