EVDO coverage areas with your 6700

Hello,

Some people have mentioned they are in or not in the EVDO areas. Somoene mentioned the EVDO coverage map. Could someone post a link?

Sorry if there is another link, I didn't find it.

EV-DO

How does the phone show if you are connected using EV-DO?

You'll get that EV at the top of your screen like the guys with the hacked 6600s are getting.

It looks like nearly every city that they are in has only a tiny percentage of actual EV coverage.

See...

http://evdoforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=783

Sprint EVDO coverage is well beyond what the maps show. I have an EVDO card and have used it in several cities. And not just airports, but in suburbs. St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, lower Manhattan, Tampa.

You'll have to experiment or just try out an area as many areas that Sprint has listed as NOT having EV-DO DO, in fact, have EV-DO coverage. There is a fair amount of area in Kansas up towards the KC area that shows no coverage, yet, EV-DO is available in most of the area. If you have it you'll know by the EV icon and the speed of the data.

Sprint seriously needs to upgrade their maps to a more current listing. It will make it easier for their customers and it will look better for them as they are missing a lot of coverage by EV-DO because its not listed on their maps, yet it is active and available.

I am in Dallas also, and in certain parts of dallas I get the EV sign. I have not changed my vision plan however; still on the grandfathered plan, but speed test say I am doing 235 kb. When in an area with a 1X symbol i am getting 70 - 90 kb.

NoBey and DigitalTrader,

I'd appreciate more detailed location info in Dallas if possible. I'm in Allen which is off 75 between Plano and McKinney but travel all over the metroplex. Where all have you seen the EVDO signal in the Dallas area?

^Would be interesting to check results outdoors. There have been results posted in the 600Kb-1Mb/sec range for the 6700 in the last few days.
