I apologize in advance if this has been asked/covered, I've searched for more then a couple hours and not seen it, so I thought this would be the best place to ask.

Buying a ppc-6700 in a month, and gathering accessories now because I'm taking a trip soon after I get the phone. I have all my accessories picked out (cases, etc) aside from the miniSD, which, I'm having trouble picking.

I'm getting everything I need from Seidio, but haven't found anyone here comparing the PQI brand cards they sell to say, sandisk or kingston, or say the A-DATA cards on newegg. I would love to just buy it all from one retailer, simplier, less shipping, etc.

Anyone with expiriance with PQI cards, especially vs. any other brands? Anyone with a link where this was specificly covered?

save pictures and video on storage card

Insert storage card, when the camera is started, click on the tools button... its the second one to the right all the way on the bottom...click that and then click Tools on the bottom left and go to the Options option. on the general tab, the last option is Save to: click the down arrow and select storage card.

and p.s. - I jsut bought a 2 gig kingston memory card from amazon for less than 40bucks including shipping. works great no problems at all. any news on a 4 gig one commin out?

What brand miniSD card do you have?

Random topic.

Right now I have a 1GB SanDisk miniSD but I'm looking to upgrade to a 2GB soon. I see a lot of brands out there that are extremely less than the SanDisk. What are the differences really?

The cheapest I can find online a SanDisk 2GB miniSD for is 47.99.

PQI cards suck!

PQI cards suck! If I can get it to save an MP3 it will either later erase it or just will not play it.

If this interests anyone, I bought a 4gb SD card off ebay (black samsung oem looking one). Well I stuck it in my xv6700 right away, didn't work or do anything. It came with a usb reader for it, as well as a converter to regular sd card size. So I put it together and stuck it in my pc. It was allready formatted fat32, but I reformatted it to fat32 default cluster size (slow format). Stuck it in my xv6700 and it worked!! Attempted to copy over tomtom map to it, watched a movie called click... still didn't finish copying... so canceled out, stuck it back in the usb reader, copied over the map and everything is good. Device seems slower with the card in it... but it works.

Seems to write just fine, but slow... 3seconds per mb. USA tomtom maps were 1.1gb should have took 55min to copy (crashed on 657mb file cline.dat; 146mb poi.dat transfered fine) copying mp3s to it working just fine. The usb reader for it, wrote that 1.1gb in 10min. I have not done any of the registry tweaks.

I've had good luck with Kingston - if you look around you can find a 2GB for less than $30. - sheureka

Hey, my long lost 2 gig mini sd suddenly appeared behind my monitor in my office about a foot away from the charging/sync cradle! It's ok, you can all stop looking now but thanks for the help. Gotta love that old time mini sd launcher.

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know that I bought a 4GB mini-SD card from ebay seller pc2buy. Total cost was $69.99 with free shipping and a free USB converter. You can check the ebay site here. When I put the mini-sd in my 6700 it did not work. I took the mini-sd, put it in the sd converter, put it in the USB converter and put it in my computer. XP found it and I reformatted the card to 4gb using FAT32. I put the card back in the phone and it worked. I have put over 3 gb on the card (see photo) and so far no problems. The only thing that I noticed so far is that it is a little slower than my 2GB sandisk. I hope this helps!
