On the back of the phone with the battery cover removed are two philips screws, take them off. Now pop off the cover they held on. Remove the screw on the top of the phone and peel off the antenna it held on. Now there is a torx-6 screw right under the black stub antenna, remove it as well, and pull out the stubby antenna. Inside the antenna there is a gold contact, rip that out and make sure it wont contact the mother board. Replace the now empty stub and screw it in, put the cover back on (DO NOT replace the screw on the peel off antenna), replace the two screws and you should not have any signal.
If that doesn't work, nothing will, since these phones are built so they can always call out to 911, so nothing in the way of software will allow the phone to continue to function with out being able to call 911.
