Why is my storage memory getting so low?

I'm running a cooked ROM on my Verizon XV6700. Over time (and I've rebooted etc.), my storage memory has gotten down to 0.5 MB, while my program memory is at 22 Megs. I've got an SD card, so I try to install everything I can to that, and I don't (knowingly!) store anything sizeable in memory. I'm getting a "low memory" error when I boot and when I sync (over-the-air) with an exchange server. What's going on? Are there cached or temporary files somewhere from browsing or mail connections to an Exchange server that can be cleaned up? How do I find the main culprits causing this?

Mike

have discussed this before on this forum...

pim.vol is a big memory eater. that stores your contacts and such. if you have a lot of contacts then thats one reason.

if you have your web browsers cache stored in main memory they eats up memory too.. along with the history, temp folders, sms messages, stored/deleted messages, sent messages...
check on those things and clean it out... you may also have some program storing some log file in your main memory....

pocket mechanic will move many things form main to storage memory and set the appropriate reg entries so that all works as it should. i have been using that program for years...
