I'm new to this so I apologize if this is simple. I just bought a micro SD and mini adapter to use with an XV6700. When I insert the card, the screen freezes. When I remove the card, the device works fine.

I have searched the forum and have tried formatting the card and installing helmi sdhc.cab, hoping for some magic. Nothing has worked.

is it s SDHC card or a conventional sd card? if the former thats probably your issue. you need to use a standard microsd card around 2GB...

what is the model and capacity of your card? where did you purchase it from?

It's a SanDisk 2 GB micro SD. It is not HC. I purchased it from Office Depot. It looks like it's this one.

i would return it for another one. if it happens again its a phone issue...

Looks like it's the phone. I tried a 1G micro with adapter (Dane Elec) and the screen doesn't lock but the phone doesn't seem to know it's there. I tried reformatting and it doesn't help.

last thing to do is a full hard reset, erasing everything and starting from scratch. this will erase all your data so make sure you back up what you want.

sandisk are good cards. i have used sandisk for years in these devices...
