XV6700 Display Problem

Hi everyone,

I have an XV6700 with a display that's really washed out -- kinda hard to photograph, but see the pic below. Besides the display, it's fully functional.

Once in a while it'll fix itself for a few minutes, but it just does it randomly while sitting around (opening the slider, etc. doesn't have any effect on that, so I think it might not be a loose connection issue?).

Any ideas? A hard reset doesn't do anything, so it's not a random software issue either.

Sorry to say this, but it sounds like a hardware issue to me. I'm not an expert with cellphone hardware or anything, but based on my experiences with laptops, sounds like you might have some sort of hardware issue.

Yeah, that's what I assume it is. I'll take it apart and check the display connections I guess.

But since it does occasionally work, I assume it's just a connection issue and that the panel, etc. are fine-- let's see...

These things are pretty much guaranteed to stop working at some point. I have three HTC sliders, and within 1.5-2 years, all have display problems.
