Picked up two replacement 6600's from eBay

After almost three years of great service my original 6600 pooped on me and could not longer connect to any radio towers. The internal radio is dead.

I looked into going the 6800 route, but still can't see myself "upgrading" to a phone with a smaller LCD.

So, grabbed two from eBay for $89 each. Both are in pristine condition. It feels like I'm new to the 6600 again.

Who's still using and enjoying their 6600's?

I have an XV6600 that i just pulled from a box to see what i could do with it now. I still get the feeling my EVDO was faster on my 6600 than on my 6700... Probably going to test that theory here soon...

Still with it BUT...

It too is crapping out after 2.5 years - buethooth sync keeps dropping - sometimes can't dial out (might be because of data link being on (though it never happened before.

I didn't want to go with a new PPC, but I've been eying the "Mogul" AND AT&Ts (future) NEW "Tilt" (maybe first part of Oct). However, their data plans are confusing AND from what I've been reading, are much MORE than Sprint's Data Plan (though I never had EVD0 before anyway - only used my wifi card).

Going to visit both, Sprint AND AT&T stores, it looks like I'm going to bite the bullet and switch to the smaller screen (both phones are pretty "techie"). I don't think we will see another 3.8" screen converged phone in the U.S. anymore.

Anyone looking to buy a used PPC-6600 (Normal ware) w/ 2 extra extended batteries (one is the 3500mH for Lion Battery)? I forget what else I bought for it. I might even through in VC if the price is right.

my 6600 is just about on its last leg, but I'm hangin tough with it. At this point I'm either gonna go to the 6800 or wait until the iMate Ultimate 7150 comes out and see what kind of rates I can get with AT&T. The 7150 has the big screen, so I'd like to get that if data plans for AT&T arent totalled retarded.

Good deal on the replacement 6600s.

My 6600 was getting a bit old. I just got a replacement for it. Looks brand new.

I was tempted by the 6800, but I can wait until a device with VGA resolution and built-in GPS is released. Hmmm.... Eten X800 or M800...

For now, the "new" 6600 will do.

Did you get your replacement from Sprint?

Just curious to see if they still have those around.

Right before Sprint dropped Lockline for Asurion they sent me a 6700 which I kindly returned after I fixed my 6600.

Yes, I got it from a local Sprint/Nextel repair center/retail location. They took a little longer to get it because I asked to please try to locate a 6600. I do not know exactly what they did, but they mentioned they got it from another store in the area. He did not expect to find one and was surprised when he did find it.

Hope that helps!

My three-year-old xv6600 has been running great but will perform a reset when battery level reaches around 35%. Annoying when you're talking on the phone and that happens. I'm looking at the LG Voyager as my primary phone and use the xv6600 as just a PDA. (My kids like to play Jawbreaker on it) Yea, two devices but the Voyager is much smaller on my belt or in my pocket.
