Works flawlessly for me to. Just got back froma long trip and used it while driving after the 3500amphour battery gave up the ghost. I couldn't live without it in my line o work.
Sounds like you are hooking it up wrong or you have a defective one?!?!?!?!?!

I figured out the answer while reading forum posts about people having trouble with car cigarette lighter adapters and the 6700. If the 6700 refused to charge from a device that has a mini-USB plug and you would think should charge it, then turn off the 6700, plug in the charger, and wait a few seconds. Eventually the 6700 led shows that it is charging, and then you can turn it on and it will continue to charge. This technique works for me and the Socket will charge it as long as the 6700 is off when I plug in the cable and I wait 10 seconds.

I think TechforLess must be an outlet store for Socket because I discovered their low price for an open box unit also and that's where I bought mine a month ago. Isn't it strange that they always happen to have open box units?

I bought one of the cheapie models from ebay that takes 4 AA rechargables, and it works great, for a ton less money. Wierd part is it doesn't work right with alkalines (too much power?) but NiMH rechargables work better.
