PocketPCTechs Extended Battery - 2400mAH

There have been a lot of threads talking about extended batteries. I just wanted to let you all know that PocketPCTechs has released one now. I have not personally tried one yet because I do fine with the stock battery for my usage, but anything from PocketPCTechs I would trust. If anyone has tried one, please post your results. These guys have been involved with PocketPCs since the early days, and do a lot with them inside the covers too.. so they know what they are doing.

I did see on their site that they say their 2400 mAH battery will not fit in the standard charging cradle. Mine I bought from lionbattery.com (also 2400 mAH) and it fits in the cradle just fine.

YES!

At least these guys disclose the fact that it will not fit in the stock cradle.

Meaning the Lion Battery doesn't? Mine does. It's in there right now.

I have the after market version $29 one. I will measure mine to see what the differences are. They look the same.

No need to measure, this battery is same as your $29 2400mAh battery no mattery on size and caps.

They are both cannot charge on cradle battery slot and I suggested you don't charge it with pda on cradle too. It may demage your cradle or pda. I think it's demage would not worth than the price different with MP 2400 and $29 2400 battery.

Misinterpreted what? Mine does not get in the way of the unit fitting in the cradle and does not require the use of the cable, separate from the cradle, which is what their site says. If their battery prevents the PPC from fitting in the cradle, then it is bigger than the 2400 battery I'm using.

Guys... this thread is getting very confusing. PocketPCTechs is a very reputable company that is a long time supporter of PDAPhoneHome. Please specify if your comments are related to their battery or not. It sounds to me like no one in this thread has tried it, but yet there are a lot of comments. I don't want them getting unfair criticism as a result of incorrect assumptions. If PocketPCTechs has released a product, you can be sure that they a) have tested it, and b) will stand behind it. They offer internal modifications to many PocketPC devices and have been doing so for years... they know what they are doing.

Like Convergent said, let's not allow this to spiral downhill. The only point being made by my original statement was that PPCTech's provide thoroughly researched and disclosed information about their products as well as a product. We can leave it here, can't we?

At one time I thought that PPC Techs was a reputable company until I sent in my PDA to get an upgrade. Not only did it take them weeks to complete, they also got my less-than-a-month-old battery and battery cover mixed up with someone else's beat up POS. When I e-mailed them, they didn't care saying that particular model of PDA was new enough that it wouldn't matter. After months and months of waiting and constant e-mail reminders to them, they finally replaced the beat-up and scratched battery cover with a new one, but I'm still stuck with a questionable battery that I don't trust and an upgrade that I'm unsure of.

All the great stories I heard about them installing a screen protector for free, quick turn-around and taking extra care with your device is absolutely not true. All I got was calls trying to upsell me other products (including their screen protectors) and people who did not care about anything other than getting my money. They are uncaring, slow and unreliable and I would NOT recommend them or their products to anyone!

spr, You need to re-read the desription....

Based on our testing, the standard 1490 mAH battery runs for 3.5 hrs or so.

---- Due to some special tweaking of the microcontroller of our battery, we have benchmarked our 2400 mAH battery at 7.5 to 8 hrs of run time. That's a 54% increase in runtime based on the lowest benchmarked time. ----

When you click the link this is where it goes.

Oh I see so it's not a capacity issue but just a better use of such. Sorry and thanks for the info!

No, it's still a different battery. They were just comparing the original vs. theirs.

The standard battery is 5.2mm thick and our hi-capacity battery is 8mm thick
