I have received my copy of DeLorme xMap4.5 and it lives up to expectation. I was able to scan in relevant topo maps at 600 dpi and set lat/long or UTM coordinates on the map. The map then is mapped to their world coordinate grid and I can export at a highly detailed level (15) to my 6600 and voila it shows up as a crisp image on the 6600 version of Street Atlas. I cannot check the GPS here but I assume it will work in France where I will be in a week.
