Something weird just happened!!!!
I had my PPC 6600 in the dock, I was changing the Today background, it appeared to hang up.
So, I removed from the dock and did a "SOFT RESET" to recover, the thing actually did a HARD REST and all was lost...
Thankfully I just just performed a FULL backup yeaterday, I am restoring as we speak.
Anyone seen this happen before?

I've seen soft resets turn to hard resets after futzing with a won't-update today screen.
However, once I removed Voice Command 1.5 I haven't had a problem like that since.
Are you running Voice Command?

anyone of those programs could have caused your problem. it happens in the ppc world... make sure you are backed up daily..
how new is your phone? it could have been the way you changed the battery to the way you took it out of the cradle...

The phone is less than two weeks old.
I figured (hoped) it was a fluke, I have already returned one to Spint because it was so flakey

Wow, never seen anything like that at all here. You may have had a defective unit. Did you get a new one or no?

The only Hard Rest i've encountered was while removing a fully charged battery
which lead me to fear switching batteries if I got a another one. Lucky it was early in my ppc 6600 life so I didn't have much. Now I Sprite Back up every few days, but I won't be relzed with that till I restore it from a backup someday. I'm not worried about contacts/calendar or mail as those are own my Exchange servers and they get back up daily.
