Just an update, I did a hard reset tonight to start fresh and decided to install the 3100/3000 BT patch to start.
So starting from square one I did a test call using each patch.
3500, 3500C, 3900, 3900B
The difference is incrediable, I had lots of static with 3100/3000 and 3500, 3500C started to get a little better, again 3900 was about the same as 3500C but I don't use mulitple profiles/BT headset wake up, so I'm not sure if that is what was supposed to be working better.
But 3900B was amazing, I've got double the range I had with 3500C and static is almost non existant.
Again I am using a cheapo IOGEAR GBE201.
Thanks Ehud for your website, it is really laid out nice and helped me complete the patching with ease!
Finally got all the software/patches in and my XV6600 is running sooo nice!
I bought the Jabra 250 and it sucked , the Jabra was comfy and looked real cool, just way to much static. So I returned it and bought the Mororola HS820 and it works like a charm. The volume is just a little to low but it's still Ok unless you are in a noisy environment. I am using a Verizon XV6600 with Blue tooth stack 3500.
I bought the Plantronics M3000 based on poll results and have been very happy with it over the last few days. Haven't used other bluetooth headsets so I can't compare, but sound quality and range seem great to me.
Edit: This is on a Sprint PPC6600, no ROM changes/updates or anything.
I have the 6601 on Sprint and only change is the flash rom update last month. I am trying a B-Speech Vitac from my local Sprint store.
This headset does not have a rechargable battery, uses a AAA cell. Voice quality seems to be good on the other end of the conversation according to the people I have talked with. On my end it is somewhat muffled and the range is very short before static setts in, 10 feet tops. I do not now how old the battery is though, may have a effect. Seems to lose connection frequently when phone suspends therefore some times I need to click the headset icon on the screen and click search for the call to go to the headset.
First Bluetooth any thing I have used, pretty comfortable to wear.
Overall I would not pay the $50.00 for it mainly due to the non rechargable battery. I would maby pay $20.

I bought the motorola 850 a few days ago and found it linked up and worked as advertised, but the volume was woefully inadequate, to the point where I couldn't hear it in my car above 4o mph (and I drive an escalade, so it is not the loudest from road noise). I did notice static imporved with the later load.
I returned it and am getting a sony, so we'll see.
I've been using a Moto 810 that I had laying around from a previous phone. Paired the first time with no problems since the last to days. The only gripe I have with it is the volume could be a little louder (can you hear me now!?). It's difficult to hear at highway speeds. I have a Verizon w/cam and BT build 3500 (stock). I'll be looking into the stereo headsets which allow the use of my own ear buds.
Good/Great sound volume and quality. People can hear me very well in a city environment without me even raising my voice. I was in a parking garage with a cars alarm going off and the person on the other end could hear me perfect. I tested it out by speaking kinda low and they could still hear me perfectly. This was cool!
Comes with a nice carrying case for your belt. Nice and small.
If you have the phone in your bag the BT-800 will RING and VIBRATE. It also has CALLER ID which is awesome
Back-lite screen makes it easy to read
Pairs and stays paired with my 6600
Cons:
It's a little heavy...but you get used to it quite fast. I was able to wear it for over 6 hours with little to no soreness.
It is a little slow on the answering of a call...but it takes about 1 phone ring to pick up.
Overall I am very happy with the device and would recommend it to everyone else.

Are there any alternatives to the Jabra 250v style wise? Every other style of headset just doesnt cut it for me. Is there anyone in the world that has gotten this particular headset to work very well for them without static. If not are there any other brands that have no static and are styled the same and you wear the same way? I have not come across any and it seems all the newer ones I come across are like the BT800 in style which is just to much to wear with the boom mic and all that
Well I just got the Plantronics M3000 after reading all the positive reviews here. Ouch it is big, ugly and heavy and really hurts my ear. It is a little bit louder than the Motorola 850 but the pain and discomfort make it unwearable for any length of time. I just threw that brick in the trash. I agree with mcq3000, the Jabra 250 has the best feel and style, if it wasn't for all the static it would be the bomb. Has anyone found a BT Headset that looks and feels like the Jabra 250 but sounds loud enough to hear and has no static.
The BT800 works pretty good. My only complaint is that at times, it takes some time to answer the call from the headset. Other times, I can not answer the call at all.

I am currently using the Motorola 850. It is a little quiet and tinny sounding but is very comfortable and static free, i also like the folding boom that also acts as an on/off switch. I threw the Plantronics in the trash, it was just to big, ugly and uncomfortable. I wish they would fix the static problem with the Jabra 250.
re: Jabra 250v, I find that if I place my phone on the same side of my body as the Jabra, I experience less (or no) static. I really appreciate the vibrator function (I have to fight the temptation to call myself whenever I get REALLY bored!?!)
I bought a logitech freedom headset because it is supposed to be good with noise canceling and so far I am pleased with that, but whenever my ppc6600 goes to sleep it loses pairing and doesn't automatically reconnect when new call comes in. Any recommendations on how to fix this problem or what headset might give me the best of both worlds?
Texico
I too purchased the Logitec mobil freedom, received it tonight from PC MAll $37.00 to my door. No tax or shipping charges.
I charged it and paired it to my 6601 with the 3500 build of blue tooth. With it fully charged using it in my office range is very good as well as call quality. I will test the wind stop and connection problems tomorrow when I use the phone off the ac charge.
Are others having the lost connection issue when the phone goes to sleep like Texico is experiencing?

Do you have the 3500 bluetooth rom version?
I have the Sprint 6601 no camera with the 3500 version and it takes about two rings and the headset will take the call if the phone had been asleep.
I had tried a Vitac that if the phone went to sleep I had to click the headset icon on the phone to reconnect when a new call came in, is this what you have to do?
So far I am very happy with this Logitech Mobil Freedom.
