3900 is a patch (a CAB file install) not a ROM upgrade.
You can get it from one of the sticky threads at the top of this forum or www.myehud.com/bluetooth
Installing it doesn't do a hard upgrade, but you do need to do a SOFT reset and re-pair your devices after installing the patch.
I hope that answers everything you've asked.
I've tried to be helpful. If there's anything else I can do, short of coming over and doing the work for you, just let me know.

3900 didn't go too well on my xv6600. Couldn't get the bluetooth radio to come on.
Also, just got my Bluespoon AX yesterday and I have to say that the tone quality is not as good as my HS820 and there is A LOT more static with the Spoon than there is with the 820. Anyone have any tips or tricks?
Well, I had the xv6600 woc and the hbh-660 and the 660 worked flawlessly, but, I exchanged the xv6600 woc for the camera version with the 3500 build and now my hbh-660 pairs fine but everyone I talk to says all they hear is my voice cracking and lots of static. I hear them just fine though?
Ehud, Do you know of any fixes for this or maybe its a faulty xv6600?
Anyway, I really enjoyed the hbh-660 when I had the xv6600 woc for those of you looking and it does pair well, wakes up on calls and displays caller id without a problem.
I have the HBH-660 with the xv6600 w/camera. It also paired-up very nicely. The sound of the HBH-660 is very good, some people thought I sounded better than on standard wired headphones. However, I think you can expect ocassional interference with any bluetooth device, I have ocassionally (had crackling) but if I move the phone it seems to go away or get closer ot it. If you are near something that might interfere with the bluetooth signal you might have interference. On your setup, I've never had to do this but I'd try letting the battery run-down on the HBH-660 and soft resetting the xv6600 if it continues. In general the xv6600/hbh-660 combination seems very good so far for me and more than suitable for regular business calls/uses.
Do try on any headset first. The Motorola 820 is a great headset, but if you have a big head, it'll never sit right.
I also find that the microphone's noise cancellation is....shall we say, anemic to non-existent if you're walking into the wind, or in a noisy environment.

I wouldn't mind seeing the new headphones (earbuds) from iTech on the list. I"ve been messing with them for the last 2 days and I'm very happy with them. Good volume, quick to wake, stereo, and good sound.
I've been using them with my XV6600woc and the stock Update from Audiovox with the Broadcom a2dp thrown in.
I tried the Moto 810 it paired w/o issues.
Sound quality not good, but useable! But it kept asking me for "allow" or "deny" on my 6600, everytime the Moto was flipped closed and opened. So I returned it.
Now I got the Logitech Freedom!
This thing rocks! Good quality, all the specs are comparable to anything out there minus the caller ID display.
Just Purchased the M3000 and it works great witht my 6600 wc. I had a Motorolla HS820 and it sucked bad. I would lose pairing about every other min.
The Good:
I Havn't lost a call yet with the new headset. Pairing worked the first time and within a few seconds.
Calls pickup very well and volume is quite good. Way better than the Moto.
I have placed and recieved about 30 calls thus far and everything has worked.
I have walked away from the phone several times... and I lose pairing because of distance.. leaving desk walking down hall etc. over 150 feet. The headset indicates this with a small beep. When I have returned it pairs right up again. No issues.
The Bad:
The thing is a fricken brick. I thought the 820 was big but this one is even bigger.. and a bit heavier. It is umcomfortable to wear for any long periods of time. There is no cushoning on the actual ear budish part so it is hard plastic butted up to the ear. The over the ear portion is not comfortable at all.. If I could take the Moto ear part and mesh the two together somehow it would be a much better unit. The ear piece is hard plastic as well and does not allow for any movement. This does keep the unit closer to the ear than the 820 but because of the inflexability it is hard to ajust the unit to make your ear happy.
Overall it is much better than the HS820 becuase it does work and do what it is supposed to do. I will have to settle with the uncomfortable fit this one provides for the time being.
Still looking for a perfect headset....
DOH: As I was writing this I did get one call and the headset missed it and I had to pick up the phone GRRRRRRRRR but 30 to 1 still GRRRRRRRRR
Just got a M 3000 and it works well in all respects. BUT! its very painful after about 10 minutes. Being the handy man that I am, I did a little modifications and came up with this.
I took off the ear clip and resized the earpiece to fit a Jabra Ear jell I glued the ear jell to a 3/8 long piece of plastic tube that I made from an old ink refill syringe. and then glued the tube to the headset at the right angle.
It's comfy and stays put you can almost go jogging with it on
If you look at my earlier post on my problems with the new camera version and my on going problem with the cracking noise heard on the other end, I have a new update. I did everything you can think of including pairing my 660 with my partners camera version and it sounded great. I paired his 660 with my camera version and it sounded terrible. I called customer support and they said the typical response - "Did you hard reset your device?" Of course I had and that did not work either. I read in another post that some of these devices have problems that are associated with the device itself and the only way to correct them is to get a new one. That is what I did. The new one arrived and Wa La, no problems at all. I sound crystal clear and all is well. Hope this helps anyone else experiencing this problem because I can tell you first hand the hbh-660 works awesome!!!
