I went from 3900B to the official 3500/3600 and it's actually quite good.
No memory errors and good reception w/minimal static. Seems to work like it's supposed to.

OT: Keep the bike, you'll regret it when the weather turns nice.
I was thinking about selling my Triumph when it got cold here (as cold as it gets in Orlando ) when a friend bought a Harley. I've been riding more in the last few weeks than I did all last year. Hopefully no major storms to muck things up this year.

Hi, I am having problems with some websites that cause pocket IE to just bail out. Problem is that the sites that cause this are ones I need access to from my mobile. I am using the verizon present firmware update 1.36.00 wwe ce rom and 1.36.116 ext rom 1.51 radio rom. Does 2.03 wwe improve the pocket IE any?

I have to use ThunderHawk to access those kind of sites. I tried opera beta but funny things happened to my PPC and it wouldn't uninstall right, requiring a hard reset.

I tried opera beta too, but got it stuck in full screen mode. I was just hoping that 2.03 had am improved IE in it. But, I guess not.

Has anyone managed to access AOL.COM's XM Music? I haven't found a browser that works. Running 2.03.

If you have an xm account you can sign up at the xmradio site and then use ie to log in at http://www.minixm.com. If you're trying to log in with aol, I have no clue. - sheureka

Well, AOL has bunches of XM stations for free. I can access them with my desktop and laptop, but not my 6600. Thought I'd mention it. Maybe there's a hack to let one of the browsers do it. Who knows?

So did anyone figure out a fix to the feedback/humming noise issue that is present while the screen is on?

Are the ROM updates expected to be updated in steps? I just bought a XV6600WOC.
The following is the device info:
ROM Version: 1.32.00 WWE
ROM Date: 10/18/04
Radio Version: HA01_139
Protocol Verdrsion: AA3.3.301
ExtROM Version: 1.32.115 WWE

I went to Verizon's site. The upgrade link took me to the UT Starcom site. I downloaded the update but it would not update. When it checked my device during the update, it reported an error "Error 100 Model ID error. 8-03-02-02-02 The ROM image is not designed to work with your device. Please check the vendor web site and downlead correct ROM update."

Am I doing something wrong or do the uodates have some sort of a sequence that need to be followed? If so, where can I get the proper ROM updates for my particular phone/PDA other than UT Starcom's web site?

Not sure about Verizon... did you buy it from Verizon or get if from eBay or something?
That's a ROM version that's older than most. Yet the update should still work. I'd say ignore the warning and try to run the update again.
You might also want to try the update from Audiovox's site.

Thanks for the help. The verizon site worked. I guess the proble is that the ROM updates differ foir camera verses no-camera phones. Mine is a WOC version and there was one for the WOC on the audiovox site.

Ok, I know this is a weird question, but has anyone noticed a difference in battery life with the different ce roms for the 6600?


I have noticed that my battery seems to last longer with the 2.0x versions than with the stock 1.3x versions. I just can not figure out why.

Is it just me or have the roms been removed from the audiovox site? I can't seem to find them anymore.

First off all, I wonder if you have heard of DAXIAN CU 928. This pda looks very similar to Audiofox 6600. I bought this Daxian CU 928 when I was is China. This unit has 64mb RAM, 64mb ROM, support CDMA, Bluetooth, No WI-FI, Has vga camera with flash.

While updating with the 2.03 on Ehud's site I had a BSOD... now my 6600 is a brick.

Anyone have any clues on help with this or am I going to have to lockline this? I really don't want to since I know they'll give me a 6700 and I am happy with my 6600.
