i'm talking about the official verizon update. i think its the one for the non camera version but i don't think theres a difference in the system rom between the camera and non-camera versions. the difference is in the extended rom i think.

My 04 TL works perfectly with my sprint 6600. I have had multiple con-calls lasting over an hour. It only took 2 tries to sync up... Just my $.02

Ehud, I understand that the extROM is stuff from the carrier. What kind of stuff? Are higher numbers better? Is it upgradeable? Sorry to be asking this, but the search button isn't working

I did upgrade today to 2.03 following the guide. However, it started from Phase 3. Now I have ROM 2.03, Radio Version HA00_140 instead of HA01_140 and extended ROM 1.36.113 WWE.
Do I have to repeat the upgrade?

Not if you're with Sprint and plan on using your phone as a phone. HA01_140 is an EV-DO radio rom.

HA_VZW_136_117_01151_SHIP.exe

I saw this on the audiovox website today.

I don't think I've seen this one mentioned before. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks
Paul

Angry Sprint Store Tech. What a moron

Hi guys. Long time no see.

Today I stopped at a Sprint store in Sacramento to complain that my PPC6600 misses nearly all incoming calls in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. It only receives in Sacramento. The rep took it to the tech to check if it has the "Latest update." Well, my last full backup was on May 11, and the idiots hard reset my phone and told me "There! it's all updated now."

I was pissed because had I known he was going to hard reset it I would have backed up to the SD card on the spot. When I got home I looked for the most recent backbacup (May11) and did a full restore without recording any parameters from "SPRINT's super update."

Now my phone has:

ROM Version: 1.36.00 WWE
ROM Date: 1/13/05
Radio Version: HA00_140
Protocol Version: AA3.3.301
PRL Version: 10029
Ext Version: 1.36.100 WWE
Hardware Version: 0041

There is not BT Build version shown.

Is my phone updated? Can someone comprare there Sprint phone to see if there parameters are newer?

Thanks,

Tony

Mine is pretty stock, and my ExtROM version is 1.36.113 WWE. Everything else is the same as yours. You have to go into your Bluetooth Settings and then About to get your BT settings. - sheureka

Thanks, Sheurka. I made a mistake. My Ext Rom is 1.36.110 WWE

I bought my PPC6600 in February of this year and did not want to do any Audiovox firmware updates at that time.

My BT version is: BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 3500

Is that what you have?

That's the same. But I certainly don't know what they "updated" your phone with, because your ExtROM is not the update on the Sprint site (which is the latest stock one). - sheureka

I have ROM 1.35. Could someone please let me know what the advantages are to 2.03/2.04 and how I could access it?

Please forgive me, if this is repeated elsewhere. I did search around but could not find the answers. If need be, please direct me to where I may find answers to these questions. Thanks.

* Windows Media Player 10 (WMP10)
* Separate icons for data status and phone status
* Outlook SMTP Authentication allows setting different username/password than incoming u/p
* Having the latest and greatest -- months before your carrier releases it

Yep. I've been running 2.03, and now 2.04, for months.

What are the biggest changes from 1.35 to 2.03 and 2.03 to 2.04?

I read about Window Media player 10 but I noticed something different. I don't know if it's because I installed PIE last night after upgrading to 2.03, but I was able to get on to my banks website (128 bit high encryption).

I had tried to log on my bank's website before and I was not able to with my previous version 1.35.

Any thoughts on the difference in the ROM 2.03 vs 2.04 and possible i.e. secuirty upgrade?

your comments about ehud are just as bad as some of his "harsher" forum posts. i'm glad your company has issued over 3000 6600's but do any of them host a website with very useful patches and files?

ehud may be a little on the harsh side but i think his contributions far outweigh any negative impact.

Gentlemen,

There is no need to start calling people defamatory names.

No one wants to be "kicked off" these boards and the bottom line is, we are ALL HERE HELPING EACH OTHER.

Bottom line is lets give an ear to what other users say and move forward.

Now, where do I get 2.04?
