Unlike Ehud's example of bluetooth perfection, my phone does not play nice with my car: 2004 Acura TL. Out of 4 phones (2 previous SE phones and my wife's current V710), this is the only bluetooth phone that hasn't worked flawlessly with the car. I've tried the various patches with little success. 3900 works no better than the (I believe) 3100 my phone shipped with--actually works worse. I still am unable to initiate a phone call using my car's handsfree link, but I can receive/answer calls.....however after 2 minutes into a conversation the bluetooth connection is lost, every time without fail....at least my phone doesn't hang up on the caller when that happens.
I have the same car, 04 Acura TL. I have a 6600 that I purchased last week--still in the 14 day trial period. I got everything working with the car after many attempts--after reading your post, I'm not sure I have had a call over 2 minutes during the testing. Going to try that right now.... You say the incoming or the outoing call gets dropped after 2 minutes of converstation?

I did the 2 minute tests for incoming and outgoing calls... all worked perfectly.
THEN... I upgraded to the 2.03 ROM and the phone will pair but neither incoming or outgoing will connect with the car system/speaker--but my e-mail link works great now.
Wish I could have email and bluetooth in my Acura in the same device.
Quick Question......Is the 2.03 upgrade w/MP 10 for Sprint's PPC 6600 phones, as I received an error that it wasn't for my device? Also, is this a hybrid of Windows Mobile 2005? One more thing....has anyone heard of where I can get my hands on a copy of Windows Mobile 2005??
Hi, I just got a Verizon XV6600 With Camera. As well as a Motorola HS820 Bluetooth HS. The fact that Verizon has crippled the Bluetooth functionality on this phone really bothers me. There are a few featurs I would like to enable on my XV6600 but as a new XV6600 owner It is hard for me to decipher exactly which Roms/Patches would benefit my particular situation.
I have come across numerouse posts that claim these geatures are impossible on the 6600, but I also realize that this phone came out about a year ago, I would like to think that there are a lot of updates in available ROMS / Patches b now.
Featurs I want:
* Full Audio over BT
* Voice Command over BT
* File Sharing over BT
* DUN over BT
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain to me what I can to enable these features on my phone.
I just got my xv 6600 w/camera yesterday and it seams really twitchy and I am thinking about updating the rom if it is possible I have not bought any bluetooth accesories yet so it is hard to say if I am missing something in that department. It seems to run more sluggish than my samsung I700 and the volume on through the supplied headset and earpiece is really low.
here is my rom info:
rom version: 1.35.00 wwe
Radio version: ha01_140
extrom version: 1.35.113 wwe
hardware version: 0041
btcestack. dll: 1.0.0.3500
will an update help with the quirckiness and make it respond faster? I am still playing with it so It could just be me but it seems slow compared to the I700
If I install 2.03, and want to go back to 1.35.00 (the original ROM on the PPC) will a simple backup using Xbackup carry the ROM with it? I have a couple of these phones and I installed 2.03 on it, and BT 3900 and now I am getting a wierd feedback/humming noise from the speaker. It is very faint, but also very irritating. This is why I want to restore the original rom and BT stack since I am assuming it has something to do with this. My plan was to grab a backup from the other, unmodified device, and stick it on this one with 2.03. Unless anyone has a solution to this feedback?

If you want to go back to the original, just get the upgrade from Audiovox's website. The upgrade can downgrade you back to the official ROM for the phone.
Originally posted by bluemotev The one on the website is only for the phone without camera, and I have With Camera... I cant find the with camera ROM...
It's there on page 2. 6601 is without camera, 6600 is with.
Originally posted by boe I tried out my PPC6601 with a large number of headsets while I was at CES - it only worked well with a few. I would find it hard to believe that so many companies were were demoing headsets with a lot of snap crackle and pop and pairing issues. I find it more likely that the issue lies with this phone.
As far as receiving calls; at least once a week my phone doesn't ring and an hour later or so I'll get notice that I have missed a call or have a voice message. These occur without me leaving the location I'm in. There are no dead spots in any of these locations so it leads me to believe the issue is with the phone. If you do a search - you will find others experiencing the same issue.
Now I may have a dud phone - I'll be getting a replacement on Monday but since so many other people are having similar issues while some are not, I either have to think it was a either a batch of bad phones or an issue that can be resolved with a firmware update.
Same for me...
1. the phone routinely does not answer an incoming call
2. i sometimes cant dial out because it wont stop the internet connection (i think this is also why it misses incoming calls)
i have to turn on flight mode, then during the phone shut off it disconnects from the internet, then tries to dial the number it wouldnt dial and then after about 5 seconds (often after someone has answered) it goes into flight mode. i then have to turn flight mode off and i can dial out normally....
pretty neat for $400 pluss $100/month
also, I havent installed any software -- its a clean setup and still connects to the internet at times, and im using EDVO.
Bluemotev, a while ago i thought that if you took the .nbf from the original verizon update and swapt it with the 2.03 .nbf it would work but i can't seem to get it to work. maybe you could try that.
