I'm assuming you've done the hard reset and that didn't help?

Do you have another BT phone you can test your BT250 with? If other people can get it to work (and since there are no parameters to twiddle, and since you're obviously doing all the right things) maybe the headset...

One other thing, are you just unable to pair, or can you pair and it works badly, or does it just plain not work?

The PPC does not recognize the BT250 as being there at all...they just blink their blue LEDs at each other...

A hard restart was the only way I was able to get the BT3900 loaded up.

Will have to track down someone with a BT-enabled phone top see if their unit recognized the BT250...

Thanks again for the help.

Is it possible that the BT250 pairing sequence hasn't been properly initiated?

(I'm all out of other ideas...)

Tried the BT250 with my wife's Motorola-- it would not hook up with her phone either. the Jabra must be bad.

Following other's success documented elesewhere here on this forum, I went to Best Buy and bought a Plantronics M3000...I had success on the very first try! Good reception as well!

Thank you for your help, Ehud!

Hi there,
I have the same problem, here is how to do it. start the pairing process on the phone first then set the bt250 to pair (blue light solid) then if need be do the refresh on the bottom of the pairing screen on the xv6600. if this does not work do a soft reset and retry.

Try it first before upgrading. The latest hardware has the latest patches/ROM levels... so other than going to the [experimental] 3900, you're running the latest and greatest.

Try it. If it works, you're golden.

If not, try 3900.

FYI - I did the ROM update, and the SPRITE backup "ROM upgrade option" works. I was able to restore my backup and keep the newest extended ROM version.

They basically include an app that you run after you hard reset but before you update, that makes a datafile with the ROM info. You put this datafile on the SD card, and when you run your restore later, with the update option turned on it will ask you to point it to the file; so it doesn't restore old stuff from the old roms that was installed into ram I guess. If you run the utility without a hard reset the datafile jumps from 400K to over 1.5Mb if your device was really full, so the restore might not be done right when the upgrade is done.

Interestingly, the Broadcom Audio/keyboard BT stack update either stayed on my device, or is included in the ROM update which I wasn't aware of being in the rom update before.

All my apps run fine. My text message deleted folder is corrupted, but that may have happened with beta testing an SMS app. I didn't check that item before I installed the alpha test software which has been updated 4 times over the weekend...

XV6600 and hard reset

I have an XV6600 with camera phone and it randomly performs hard resets. Does anyone know if this is related to the bluetooth connectivity? I have BT build 3500 version 1.0.0, Windows Mobile 2003 2nd edition version 4.21.1088 (build 14132), jabra BT250, and fully charged batteries. I really like the phone, except for this reset issue. I have gone to Verizon and had the phone replaced. I went back again and their technical support recommended that they replace the phone (again!). I am now on my 3rd new phone in 3 weeks. Any suggestions.

HARD RESETS

It most likely is the battery comming loose. if you try to hit the bottom of the phone squarely on your palm does it do it? thats what mine did anyway.

Yes, MSWLOGO covered it in a previous discussion. Find any one of the files that it replaced. Find its date (I am remembering 12/14/04 but that may be wrong.) Then search for *all* files from that date. Delete them all. Reboot. The ROM files will re-assert their presence and you'll be back on 3500/3600-BTstack.dll.

Does anyone know if Broadcom is coming out with updated Bluetooth drivers. Someone said a few weeks ago an update was in the cards.

I only ask because I have an Izon bluetooth headset that work but the audio starts to fall into digital garb after 30 seconds. I'm wondering if there is an update that might fix this problem??
