Yup... and I called verizon and they are clueless...

So, I am really trying to understand the network connectivity of this thing... What is this #777 dialing it keeps doing? Is this the EVDO activation?

Also, is Wmodem and USB dialup the fastest possible connection with this thing on a PC? Is this using broadband?

Ehud.....here is a newbie level question that I could not find, or was so well burried in my search I did not see it.

When creating dialing scripts on the 6600 in contacts for various things, i.e. logging onto conference call centers, calling cards, etc... what is the pause command? Normally it is a comma, but that does not seem to work. You have w in your VZ voicemail script above. Is the the pause command for the 6600?

What other dial scripting commands could you share.

p gives a 2 second pause (soft pause)

w gives a hard pause, i.e. you have to hit the talk button to get the rest of the number dialed.

Thank you mwfielder.....your answer is sure going to make my life a lot easier!

EDIT: I seem to have a problem with my dialing script to forward my office phone to my cell phone while out of the office. I have this script programed into my desktop office phone, so I know the system works okay with a dialing script. here is my dialing script I put into my 6600:

1-888-123-4567ppp[Access Code]#pp[Password]#pp1pp1pp[Phone Number to Transfer to]#

The problem is that the script seems to stop at the # after the access code, or shortly just after that. The system recognizes the access code and is waiting for the password that the dialing script never gives it. I have added several more 'p' without any luck. I added a 'w' after the first # without any luck.

When I look at the call summary in Informant 5 it only shows:
1-888-123-4567,[Access Code]#,[Then only 1/2 the Password]

and stops.

Any thoughts?

Ugh...help!

OK--I have had my phone in "official" use for 5 days now, and I have a few questions (problems?!?!) that I couldn't find answers to.

Since I am having problems with varrying things, I felt this was the right thread because it may resolve things for others.

I have the Plantronics M3000 BT headset, and I have had a NIGHTMARE with it. I do a lot of talking while driving. I don't want to have a bad connection to my accounts, because I think it is rude. All I have gotten is negative feedback about the sound quality, and how sensitive the microphone is to outside noise. Also, it doesn't have call-waiting, and I can't use Voice Command with it.

Second--I can't seem to figure out the option to download data (emails) by manual.

How do I stop the <- -> signal/data logo from being active so that I can receive/make calls?

How do I get all information about the call to appear on the screen? I like to see the Contact Name, Phone Number, Picture, and Duration. Do I need a different skin, or is an option somewhere?

Thanks for your time,

Alright---this is crazy S**T.

4 days ago, I had my phone charging on the cradle, plugged into the A/C and the CPU for ActiveSync. When I went to go to bed, I took it off the cradle and I heard this noise--I ignored it, and went on to bed.

Well when I went to set my alarm, I noticed what that noise was that I heard--it was the LCD screen CRACKING. It cracked in teh lower left corner--I don't mean a small crack, a LARGE one, that has spread in 3 spider cracks across teh whole screen, which affects how the phone is used. I NEVER dropped it--I have only had it for 3 weeks.

What I figure is this: I was charging it near my air conditioner (about 2 feet from) and it was getting hot on the charger. WIth the cold air blowing on it from the back, I think it might have caused something...it is the only reason I can come up with.

Anyways, STUPID F'ING SPRINT won't replace my phone as a "defect" on the warrenty because it is "physical damage"....basically, they don't believe me and think that I dropped the phone (I went to 2 stores, one in a bad part of Detroit, one in a good part). Here is the crappy part...my insurance doesn't kick in until the 19th, and what am I supposed to do then??

Any advice as to what to do...I would like to get it replaced w/o paying the stupid deductible....

Here's a frequently asked question:
How does this relate to FAQ's about this device??? Admins can you dump this or recreate it as a new topic? Jeez.

Easy killer...if I was searching for something similar to my problem, I would first search the FAQ--wouldn't you? I suppose I should have started a new thread, but I wanted to get feedback first. You're an idiot. If you noticed, the previous 15 posts weren't "directly" related to the FAQ either...why'd you slight me out?

The more I think about it, you are a total jerk. Did you see Hobbes' question about ROM scripts? Along with mwfielder? Those 2 are high up on the totem pole in my book, and I followed their lead in the Q&A department. Just because you don't like/care about my situation, you dog me?

Lastly, you have only been a member for 2 months and you feel you have the right to call people out? Hmmm...respect?

RELAX--it's just a forum...

There have been alot of ROM questions lately. I don't know how to word this exactly but here are some answers to frequently asked questions when loading a ROM:

-Connect the Cradle directly to the computer, not through a USB hub.
-Have the power plugged into the cradle as well.
-Do not try to do a ROM upgrade over bluetooth activesync
-If, in the middle of a ROM upgrade, it stalls, and all you see on your Screen is USB V 1.02 or Serial 1.02 do not panic. This is the bootloader screen. As long as you don't see anything loading on the screen you are OK. Reboot the Computer, and retry the ROM load. When you Pocket PC is in bootloader mode, there is no software on it. Soft or Hard resetting does nothing because there is nothing to load. You can get to this screen by pushing power, record/take a picture side button, and reset all at the same time. If you do that ensure you have a ROM to load, otherwise you have yourself an expensive brick.

I type this all up and its already in the BA wiki, duh

You're right. Yours isn't the only post falling into this error. And since your question has been determined by you to be "Frequently Asked", feel free to post it here. Everyone else, too. Don't worry about making a seperate topic. And, yes, because I am relatively new to this POS device and this forum, I know nothing of the proper use of a forum and FAQ. Thanks for the correction.
