If you have a combination that is working don't worry about it.
I think the case where BT stays blinking is by design on that patch. It may use slightly more power but I had not noticed any difference in battery life.
I put Build 3100 back. After booting and turning BT back on I did not see headphone icon. Oops I had the headset off. Turned it on and then went into BT manager to pair it up and it had already gone to active state !!!
However now I see why some folks don't like build 3100 the HS320 had audio drop outs. I've never ever had that with the HBH-300 on any build. Slightly garlbled but never a drop out. I had to end the call and call back on handset. Back to HBH-300 for me.
So it depends on phone, patch and headset and some combinations seem to work. No logic applies. Or very little.
So I've just spent this last hour and a half dorking around with everything and get mixed results, but on the plus side of things.
I had no luck at all with the 3100 build on the XV6600 by itself. After the installation process reset, I ran into an error that directed me to perform a soft reset when I tried to turn on BlueTooth. I did and tested the HS810 and m3500 and came up with the same problem. Works fine while the PDA is on but does not make the connection to the headset.
So then I put the second version 3500 build on top of the 3100 I just installed. Even though I didn't get the same error, I did a soft reset anyway. I tested the HS820 first and everything worked as it should. I was able to recieve a call while the PDA was turned off subsequent times and after doing another soft reset. Later, I also checked recieving a call while the HEADSET is sleeping. On the HS820 this is after the boom has been open for a few minutes and the blue light stops flashing. I also made sure that that if the headset was sleeping and I powered on the PDA, I was instantly able to make a call out...worked......SOLID!
One interesting thing I noticed was that when the first few calls connected, it took a few seconds for the connection to be made between the PDA and headset. In later calls, it was literally instant. Ooooh...and another...the HS820 automatically connects to the phone when the boom is open without having to activate the connection through the BT manager.
The m3500 didn't fair so well. It worked as expected while the PDA was powered on. It got interesting once the PDA was powered off. On incoming calls, the headset and phone made the connection confirmed by the ringing tone in the set, but I the button wasn't functioning and I couldn't answer the call. When I held the button in during the incoming call (as if to reject the call) the headset played the tone when a call is connected, but all I heard was static while the phone continued to ring...wierd.
DUN also worked and I'll probably get a chance soon to check the serial connection between the PDA and a Socket BT GPS unit.
I need to look into what all modifications the patches make. If isn't major and doesn't degrade performance, I may just stick with it and not bother with any future solutions. Unless it involves a drastic change in functionality...of a fix for that damn bubble icon!! I consider this thing (mine) 'fixed'. Audiovox still needs to do the right thing...you know you wrong behind this mess!!

It a real shame that the developers don't do what you guys are. Do you think that they will come up with a "factory" fix for the 6600?
BTW, you must have the HS810, not the HS820 if it have the mic boom...is this correct? I have the 20, and no boom...just static according to the other side of the conversation...I am sending IT back!

I've been a long time reader of pdaPhoneHome forum, first time poster. I'm an ex I700 user, now a VX6600 user. I have been reading all the issues people are having with bluetooth and have been doing some testing. I'm using the stock machine with no BT patches. BT headset is Jabra 250 and BT usb adapter is belkin (for laptop connection).
System config:
Rom version : 1.32.00 WWE
Rom Date : 10/18/04
Radio version : HA01_139
Protocol version : AA3.3.301
PRL version : 50225
ExtROM version : 1.32.115 WWE
All Bluetooth file version is 1.0.0.2400
Following Apps installed before BT testing:
Sbp Pocket Plus 2.2
Microsoft Voice Command v1.01
Megasoft2000 PocketClock
Resco Explorer 2003
SOTI Pocket Controller
BT Laptop to VX6600 Test:
BT Activesync : no issue
BT DUN : no issue
-- MSWLOGO: according to you the phone can go to sleep and both Activesync and DUN should still work. I have tried to put the phone to sleep via the power button on top but cant, it will turn off and after a few seconds turn right back on. Side note, via USB putting the phone to sleep via power button on top will kill both Activsync and dialing via the CDMA_USB_DIALER.
BT Activesync and BT DUN running at the same time : works but I have to start BT Activsync first and then BT DUN. If I start BT DUN and the BT Activesync I get DUN disconnected.
BT Jabra 250 to VX6600
No issue pairing.
Test Case:
1) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra 250 on and in standby. Call from landline to phone. Phone rings and Jabra 250 wakes up and ring. Can answer call no problem.
2) Phone on standby and Jabra 250 on and in standby. Call from landline to phone. Phone wakes up, rings and Jabra 250 rings. Can answer call no problem.
-- Note: while the phone was on standby, BT light on phone blinked at 6 sec interval all the time. Tested 5 min , 10 min, 30 min, 1 hour standby.
3) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra 250 on and in standby. Turn off Jabra 250 completely. Connection is lost between phone and Jabra. Put phone on standby. Turn on Jabra 250. Phone and Jabra does not reconnect..
-- Is this normal operation? I don't know but reconnecting the phone and Jabra was a simple as pressing the end/send button on the Jabra. Reconnecting took around 1-2 seconds.
4) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra 250 on and in standby. Move Jabra out of range of phone. Connection is lost between phone and Jabra. Result similar to case #3 above.
5) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra on and in standby. Power off Jabra. Connection is lost between phone and Jabra. Turn Jabra on. Connection is automatically restored to Phone within 2 seconds.
6) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra on and in standby. Toggle Phone BT off. Connection is lost between phone and Jabra. Toggle Phone BT on. Connections is automatically restored to Jabra within 2 seconds.
7) Phone on w/BT on and Jabra on and in standby. Soft reset Phone. Connection is lost between Phone and Jabra. When phone completes soft reset, Connection is restored to Jabra.
I so far have not been able to observe losing connection between Phone and Jabra 250 without manual intervention. Knock on wood and hope that it continues to work.
I have however observed some strange behaviors but nothing that is causing me grief yet.
1) On initial connection between Phone and Jabra when the headset is actively connected to the Phone but not on a call, I hear a buzzing noise. This goes away if I make a call. It does not disrupting answering or makeing a call. The buzzing goes away immediately when in call.
2) When Phone and Jabra is connected and in standby or active, the Blue LED on the left side of the Phone always blinks at 6 second interval.
3) Sometimes the phone wakes up by itself when Phone and Jabra is connected and in standby. I don't know if this happens without BT connection but I have observed it 3-4 times when BT connection is on.
I'm wondering if I'm the only person not having major issues with the stock BT stack, and if so why?
Right now I'm very glad that everything is working correctly for the most part. I will be getting a HS810 and HS820 to repeat my test and will post more soon.

Yep...sorry about that....I'm using the HS810. It was late and I was just trying to capture all the details. Damn I'm getting old.
And you're right, it's a shame that the developers over at Audiovox haven't addressed this issue. I got an e-mail back from them that they were aware of the problem and looking in to it. But this was after I called Tech Support and was told they didn't see any problems and everything work fine in thier tests with Jabra headsets. Well, I ask two of my employees to borrow their Jabras (a BT200 and a BT250) and got the same loss of connectivity.
At the same time, I also accept (to a degree) that we are guinea pigs. I'd guess there are some known issues that they decided to let go and maybe work on at a later date. I for one am in favor companies with officially sponsored web forums and that read and respond to inquiries from their customers. I don't mind messing around and trying to figure things like this out. But it means nothing if the company/manufacturer isn't going to do anything with it.
I also can't help but think Audiovox's arrangement with HTC may play into this a little. Since HTC is the actual manufacturer, it would seem to me that Audiovox is just the middleman...which they should be flexing that muscle to get this fixed...and pronto!!

So today was the working world test and it's been interesting. First, when I turned on the PDA this morning and went to turn on BlueTooth, I got an error about insufficient memory for the drivers. So I soft reset, got it again. Soft reset a third time, samr thing.
So I was thinking what did I do differently last night from this morning...SD CARD!!! Last night, I had nothing in the SDIO slot b/c I was dorking around with WiFi and then put the card in it's case. This morning, I put the memory card back in the slot (Kingston 512mb).
So I removed that, soft reset, and that did the trick. But now, when I open the boom on the HS810, the PDA is no longer automatically connecting. I have to go through the manager and manually connect. The functionality was still there...was able to power off PDA and recieved call to headset. However, I also noticed that last night, it started to connect to the headset instantly. This morning, it went back to taking about 3 or 4 rings before the headset connects. As I'm looking at the HS810, I'm also noticing that it's not going into sleep mode...blue light continously flashes. But I'm at work and don't have time to just let it sit so I'll have to look into that again tonight.
As I'm typing this and testing the headset, I just put the memory card back in and did a reset. BT came back on and the headset is working fine...wierd. Now I just did another soft reset but turned the BT off before I did....I turned on the PDA and went to turn on BT...error. Just to confirm everything, I've ejected the SD card again and just did another reset...came on without a hitch!! Very wierd!!!
Well, there's still more work to be done and Audiovox needs to step up to the plate. At least the functionality is there...albeit a little quirky (what else is new?)

I have been using the Sonorix Headset along with the OEM BT stack (XV6600).
I have not seen any of these issues so far.
Phone goes on standy by itself - incoming call, can answer with headset, no worries.
Turn phone off manually, incoming call, can answer with headset, no worries.
Go out of range, return to range, incoming call, can answer with headset no worries.
Not sure what else to try to "break" it
I also see the 6 sec interval flashing of the bluetooth light on the 6600.
FYI - I am returning this headset, feels cheaply manufactured, requires I use the supplied dongle in order to use the headset with my laptop as a Stereo Headset, and the 6600 doesnt support it as a stereo headset (yet). Finally reason, no adjustments on the headset for different size heads How lame is that. one size fits all is not the way to go on a stereo headset.
Well a week into using the 3500 patch, so far NONE of my problems have been solved. After installing agile messenger last night im getting a memory error every time i try to start bluetooth. Even after uninstalling agile its still coming up! This bluetooth crap is really pissing me off!
You might try a different headset. HS820 and Jabra 250 are problematic on these phones, I've read problems all over the place including general quality even when it does work.
HBH-300 works with build 3100.
HBH-660 likely will too.
Plantronics and Logictec might work too but I have not personally tested these. But people say good things about them (often in the context of an HS820 discussion). But I'm not sure they have carefully tested sleep issues on these phones. I have tested HS820 and it didn't work well as far as sleep issues on anything (Where HBH-300 did on some combinations).
Now that the HBH-660 is available, has anyone actually tried it to see if it works? I am thinking about it, but $100 is a bit steep if I have to return it...
It would be nice to find a headset that actually does work though!

Has anyone tried this on a Seimens SX66? I have one with a Sony Ericcson HBH-660. The headset works, but the CallerID and ability to use voice recognition do NOT work through the headset. I also have an Acura MDX with HandsFreeLink. The car pairs to the Seimens SX66, but it will not work for some reason. I am hoping some patch will be out soon to fix this. I am willing to try this if someone knows what direction I should take...

Seimens SX66 - Cingular
There was a post a couple up from mine re voice recognition and a headset on a Seimens SX66 - Cingular.
Although this has been posted before probably more eloquently and knowledgably than I will -- the voice recognition will NOT work on any headset with Pocket PC or Windows Smartphone OS's. It has something to do with the way the OS interacts with potential Voice recognition software and a BT headset.
Others may answer better but the bottom line that it won't work is the same.
