This thread has been helpful, but since it is 30 pages long at this current time, I do not know if this information is already here.

I have enjoyed my XV6600 for a month now, and in my attempt to make it better (as a Windows Mobile phone can do), I have been trying to find a way to play music over my Motorola HS820. I thought that the BT stack's available at the top of this thread was a way to do it. I installed the correct 3500 set (regretfully) without reading the readme.

My phone is operating normally with one exception.

I MUST use my BT headset to make phone calls. I cannot leave my headset behind (like when I'm going out to a club and I don't want to look like a dork for wearing this black blinking thing on my ear). I cannot hear anything from the built-in speaker and my voice is not transmitted via the built-in microphone.

My last xBackup is 2 weeks old. I don't want to lose all my txt messages I have received since then. I cannot find an uninstaller for the 3500 BT Stack. I figured asking before doing a hard reset wouldn't hurt. My phone is operating great other than this. Though I will keep more current backup's now.

Any help is greatly appreciated. How can I make my phone work normally without a BT headset?

1. Jeyo mobile companion will save and restore your text messages.
2. Backup more often than once a week. Use Sprite, not xbackup.
3. You can't uninstall a BT stack. Likely if you have the 3500 stack without the 3600 BtCeStack.dll you need to do the audiovox update or the 2.04 update.
4. If you turn BT off your problem will go away.
5. The HS820 doesn't have the stereo audio profile so you can't play music

and
most importantly

READ THE THREAD INSTEAD OF SAYING YOU NOTICED IT'S MORE THAN 30 PAGES. READ IT.

I tried the 3900 patch on top of 2.03, I got the Memory error so turning off Bluetooth was a real pain in the rear. Especially now with 2.03, when I turned on bluetooth, the bubble asked me if I wanted to turn ON flight mode. The only way I could figure out to turn on the CDMA radio with the bluetooth on, after a reset was to call something (like *86) It would never complete the call but the CDMA radio came on.

Second point to the story, if you want to use your phone without your BT headset and without turning off bluetooth: goto -> Today -> Bluetooth Icon -> Bluetooth Manager -> Click & Hold your headset icon -> Hands Free Settings -> Uncheck the Use Hands Free For ...
Then you can use the phone normally.

I tried turning off BT. It doesn't work.

I read until about page 15 and gave up as it was about 1:30 in the morn and I have to go to work early. I'm sorry for asking and not searching.

I'll d/l the backup utilities and do a hard reset, if you can't think of anything else.

Thanks again.

Is it posible just to update the BT to 3600 with the BtCeStack.dll As I am sure you are well aware that the 2.03 upgrade with the 3500 stack does not support head phones.

Once you upgrade the stack to anything greater than the 3500 and include the new profiles, you end up with BT activation error issues.

From what I can tell the only real fix is the complete flash upgrade to 2.04. Is that correct or did I miss something.

Thanks
Kevin

I think you are looking for the A2DP profile. In any case, BtCeStack.dll is XIP and cannot be extracted.

So the only real fix is the upgrade to 2.04?

Read the instrutions.

All you will need to do is copy the *.cab files to your device and double click(self install) on them but these fixes cause others issues.(I was not happy with it) The only only real fix is the 2.04 CE build with the Broadcom update.

Based on how you are asking these question I recomend you do some serious reading be for you move forward. If you make a mistake you can turn you device into a $400 brick.

This patch wouldn't happen to make the 6601 compatible with Bluetooth version 1.2 would it?

I have a plantronics voyager 510 that I would like to use with it, but it is version 1.2. People can hear me but all I hear is static.

Is there any update for the Audiovox 6601 that allows it to use Bluetooth version 1.2 devices.

the 660x can use BT 1.2 devices. I use a Jabra BT250v which is 1.2 compatible. Try moving your phone closer to your headset or keeping it on the same side of your body. Also, if you are in the viscinity of an 802.11b/g network or a 2.4gHz wireless phone, it can cause interference. Otherwise, it just may be that your headset doesnt work well with this phone, but that has nothing to do with 2.0. What stack are you using and what stacks have you tried?
