I wanted to use this phone with my Acura TL. I have read this board as well as others to get it to work. Without any patches, like 'dmizock' I was able to initiate a call from the phone, transfer to the HFL and I was good to go. After this "pairing" process. I was able to receive call via HFL and place calls via the phone where it would transfer automatically to the HFL (somewhat cool). I never was able to initiate the calls from the HFL. I tried all combinations of patches listed here, but my best experience is with the stock version of the XV6600.
Like many, I was anxiously awaiting the patch now posted on the Audiovox site. Now my experience is just like 'dmizock'. I cannot use HFL at all and I get clicking/static on the speakers in the TL. What started as a partially functioning system, is now useless.
Is there anyway to go back to the previous version? I am concerned as this patch seems to update information in ROM and the patches never did this, always able to get to the base state via a hard reset.
Joelwenger and I are both stuck with the new "improved" version from Audiovox which has made things worse with the Acura HFL. I have been in touch with Audiovox this morning in an attempt to get some resolution. They are aware of problems such as mine with the new software, as well as some phones freezing. They may pull the "upgrade" off their website. Unless they are able to offer a fix (I'm awaiting a call-back from the engineer who posted the upgrade) or send an install for the previous 2400 version, I may have to have Verizon swap out the phone in order to get back to at least some functionality. If I were you Joel, I'd give Audiovox a call. It's their phone and their software upgrade!
Already did that. I spoke with someone in Customer Support named Mike who is going to check with Engineering about getting a 2400 based install to get back to the original. They did not indicate that they were going to pull the patch....
My phone did reset itself while trying to pair with the Acura. That was my first indication that all was not well.
Ok just got off the phone with Audiovox and I found out that they have another update coming out "further along" that wil resolve the car issues with the bluetooth. I also learned that the current patch was supposed to address the bluetooth problems from the original build. Unfortunately, for me it hasn't. All is the same. Lots of static and it frequently doesn't pair. I use the Jabra BT250. The tech guy at audiovox was actually surprised when I told him it didn't work, and he gave no indication of another patch for the headset problem. I'm beginning to think they just took MSWLOGO's work and slapped their name on it. So disappointed... The worst part is the rom was updated and now I have no way of going back!
My phone now is exhibiting strange behavior. Battery life sucks! I press the green phone button and it brings up my calendar. I press the red phone button and it brings up my contacts. Weird. I hope Audiovox figures out a way to bring me back to the original shipping machine state.....
I've been able to get the phone to work in the Acura TL. I noticed that I must dial out from the phone once, hang up then dial again, then the phone is fine. I can dial out from the car and receive calls. It seams it needs to first attempt to transfer to the car HFL system and fail, then the second time it works and works after that.
Mine seems to always fail at first when I ty to answer a call from the headset. It wakes up and I hear the tones in the headset but when I attempt to answer the call it seems to connect but then I hear the disconnect tones. Then I can't even answer from the phone. The whole thing just locks up. Again I'm using th Jabra BT250 ....Anyone else having this problem?
Verizon XV6600
I have installed the latest rom upgrade from Audiovox. I have been testing it for about 2 days. Everything seems stable with my logitech freedom headset. The headset seems to get connected right away even when the 6600 is in sleep mode. No more memory errors or license errors either.
Acrobat 2.0 now works fine, and Potala Telly seems much more stable.
I could not get it paired with the ACURA MDX but I did not spend a lot of time on it.
I have updated my phone with the latest software last night and this is the first time I have gone more than 5 calls without having to do a reset. Bluetooth with Jabra BT250 is working perfectly. Now if they can enable one touch calling from the bluetooth head set, I will finally be satisfied with this phone. Media Player 10 would also be nice.

This happened to me exactly as you describe. A HD didn't help.
Take out your battery for about an hour (maybe two). It's the equivalent of an HD but also drains the backup battery. Audiovox says it only takes 20 minutes but I did it longer to be sure.
I did a hard reset the other day to clean out my PPC and reinstall only the stuff I want. After doing so I instaled "C" and "extra profile" patches.
Now when my PPC 6601 screen turns off so does the BT although the light still flashes. This causes problems with my GPS and when active sinking. Any ideas ?
I'm skeptic about anyone that says their Jabra 250 works perfectly...do they use it? Because my boss and I both have the xv6600 and the Jabra 250 (we got them at the same time) and we're really close to tossing them out the windows of our cars. It's terrible. I can't answer calls and when I do the static is horrendous...
It's not that easy putting a ROM designed for one phone on another. It's not a patch, it's a full ROM. It is possible but the risk of bricking it is high and probably for pretty little gain.
