Ehud, I think he is saying it degraded normal use of VC using the phone. depending on which patch.
My answer is, anything is possible. They both use "real-time" resources and I think can effect each other. I'd say keep experimenting. Now that you mntion it, I recently swapped out my HBH-300 for another and seems to not be as reliable as it used to be. But I also upgraded VC to 1.5. Hmmm makes you think.
I've been reading these threads in preparation of my delivery of the AX-bluespoon.
While waiting, mpatient to try B/t on my 6600, a couple of days ago my friend brought over his HBH-35. I downloaded the 3500 c patch to my 6600, it immediately paired and connected with my friend's headset (it did not do this prior to patch.) Worked brilliantly.
My Ax arrived yesterday... after charging, it paired immediatly with the 6600 but would not connect... Until I realized I had to check handsfree option in the bluetooth settings.
About a month ago, I bought a Mot HS-810 and tried it with the factory stack on my PPC-6601. I had the usual problems, of course.
I've been resisting the urge to install one of the newer "hack stacks" in the hopes that AudioVox/HTC would release a sanctioned update and so the HS-810 has just been sitting around doing nothing (I didn't return it, again in the hope that a sanctioned fix would solve my problems).
Today I finally got tired of seeing the headset lay around, and I set about installing 3500-C. First I did the rambo install. Not good, memory error when trying to turn on BT. So, I hard reset and loaded 3500-C.
Voila! HS-810 works like a charm now! The echo I and the other party used to hear is gone. In fact, my wife commented that she thought I was speaking to her on the PPC-6601's internal mic. The BT connection survives sleep mode (I can actually close the boom when the headset is not in use and open it when a call comes in now, didn't work with factory stack). Yes, I get the blinking blue light during sleep mode, but it doesn't seem to affect the battery life much if any.
Thanks guys! I'm glad I finally have a working BT headset. It's the icing on this device's cake.
I had tried ALL of the different BT files and could not get past the memory errors. This was with hard resets over and over again with every combinination!
Tonight I backed up my machine with Sprite and loaded the latest 3500 (BT3500_CDMA_C_OEM_WWE_124_008.sa.CAB) and installed. Immediately got the memory error. However I then turned the phone to flight mode and then activated BT and then turned the phone back from flight mode and it worked like a charm. My Logitech HS01 seems to work correctly now!
Interestingly now , even after a reset, the BT seems to work without the memory error!
Now if we could just get VC to work over BT (anyone have any news on when that might happen?)
FYI, I've been running the latest 3500 stack on my XV6600 with a motorolla 820 for about a week with no problems. I loaded VC 1.5 yesterday and it seemed to work great, no apparent problems with the BT. It would be sweet if Microsoft would add support for BT headsets in the next release.
The second reset that I had to do went back to the memory error so I had to do the flight mode thing over agin but it worked after that. If someone could just change the update so that it forced the phone to take these steps upon reset then I think we would be golden.
Can anybody do this?
Been lurking for a while now and had resisted the temptation to do the Bluetooth Stack patch on my 6601. I thought, heck, I don't need a headset, GPS or DUN so why bother? But curiosity finally got the best of me at the local Fry's Electronics when I saw a Bluetooth USB dongle for $30 and just couldn't help myself. The though of having my own little portable wireless router popped into my head and I couldn't get it out.
Tried DUN with stock Bluetooth and it would work for a bit and then hang or drop. Interestingly, the first time I connected I was able to run a Cnet bandwidth test before the thing dropped and it came back at over 200k but immediately thereafter the connection failed.
Not to be deterred, I finally I got up the nerve to try the 3500-C patch. Just backed-up and Ramboed it. Everthing went without a hitch and my generic dongle and PPC-6601 created what seemed like a very stable DUN connection (although I haven't been able to get a speed test anywhere near 200 again).
Anyhoo, many thanks go to all the helpful people on these boards.

Awesome! At least SOMEONE has gotten it to work. Does the headset pair quickly out of sleep mode? If it does i'll try installing the patch tonight.
Got my Bluespoon AX and from a comfort standpoint it is great. Did the hard reset version of the 3500 C patch install and it paired with the headset imediately. However, I had a lot of static, even with the 6600 right next to me with clean line of site. Outgoing sound was also garbled and I sounded very digital. Did another hard reset and this time re-installed the patch to main memory. Again the pairing was immediate but I still have a great deal of static and the outgoing sound is so bad it renders the headset un-useable. Anyone have an idea on what I may have done wrong, or what I can do to correct the problem?
I had to do a hard reset, then load the patch. I just followed the directions after that and it is working great!! I think I am going to get rid of the HS820 however, although it is adequate.
How do you install a bluetooth patch on a ppc-6601. I downloaded the 3100 patch (BT3100_CDMA_B_OEM_WWE_122_008[1].sa.CAB) to my storage card and used File Explorer on the PPC to find the files but there is no executable to click on. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help
.cab is an executable on the Pocket PC, not on a desktop. So you have to manually copy the .cab file over to your Pocket PC, then on your PPC you click on the file to install.
The AX is weird. With the original bluetooth rev it has a ton of static. With 3500c it seems to be almost perfect, until you put it in your coat pocket or block its line of sight, then major static.
The last couple of days though I have had major static on my AX even when in clear line of sight, not sure why.

This is identical to my experience so far. I'm very, very disappointed with the AX. Staticy, and can't move more than a few inches from the phone without it fading out. This isn't a line of sight problem, becase the device is right in front of me, not in a pocket... My friends say I sound "far away." I have the latest 3500c patch, even tried my friend's HPH 35 after it was intalled, and it was amazing, no static. You could walk across the room, no problem..
I'm not sure what to do, or if there's anything that can be done to improve this. I might as well use the wired headsets....
Is the .cab file part of the bluetooth patch download or is it a seperate file? I downloaded the 3100 patch and uploaded it to my PPC via ActiveSync. I used File Explorer to find the patch files on my PPC but not sure what I need to do next. Thanks for the help
I followed the instructions at the top of the thread. I loaded the files from the 3100 patch to my PPC. I found the 3100 patch files on my PPC and clicked on each file trying to locate the executable file and got the same message "There is no application associated with this file...Run the application first, then open this file from within the application" Where do I find the executable file for this patch. I am obviously doing something wrong and need some help. Thanks
I have an XV6600 from VZW. Just got my Bluespoon AX tonight so I tried it out right away. The fit of this headset is awesome, it stays in your ear and is so light and comfortable that I easily forget I am wearing it. After the battery was charged for the first time it paired up just fine on the first try. I then made a bunch of calls to the local weather recording to test the sound quality. These initial tests were very disapointing - the AX worked well when it was very close to the XV6600 (about 12" or less) but when I moved them 2'-4' apart I would get static cutting in and out randomly even though everything was stationary. I tried plugging the XV6600 in to the charger or sync cradle, going to different rooms and positions, moving or standing still, XV6600 inside my pocket, on the belt, in my hand. Despite all of this the AX still had intermittent static which was bad enough that I was thinking about a refund. The Bluetooth signal strength indicator would fluctuate wildly even when I wasn't moving at all and was still close to the XV6600.
I liked the design of the AX so much, though, that I couldn't imagine returning it so I began searching the forums and as always found several solutions including this excellent post. Before I go any further - AWESOME instructions mswlogo!! Nice work man! We all owe you a fine drink of your favorite pub lubricant! i
After reading this post carefully I installed the BT3500_CDMA_C_OEM_WWE_124_008.sa.CAB via the ROCK SOLID install and everything went exactly as advertised. No errors or faults and it was done in about 15 minutes. I then tried the AX again and noticed right away that it was much clearer - very little static at all unless I moved 8' or more from the XV6600, or unless I put a large object between the 2 devices such as an interior wall or my refrigerator door. This was much better than before and I am satisfied enough to keep the AX without any regrets, although I need to test it for a few more weeks before I decide for sure.
My friend has a Jabra BT-250 and he was able to walk 20'-30' away with several cube walls between his devices and yet the headset still worked very well with no noticeable static or noise. Comparing the 2 units I would say the AX is much better for fit, comfort, appearance, and convenience. It is so small and light that you can easily put it in your shirt pocket or use the neck strap which they provide. The practical range of the AX appears to be about 1/3 to 1/2 that of the Jabra BT-250 but I rarely have my XV6600 more than 4' from me anyway so I will vote for the AX any day, especially now that we have this wonderful Bluetooth patch. The only other critique of the AX is that the blue LED power button blinks once every 10 seconds while I am in a call. This is not the best feature when you work in an office and the whole point of the small AX unit was to be unnoticeable. Still, it appears to be an awesome gadget and I am anxious to use it hard during the next few weeks.
