I just got my phone a few days ago and am having BT headset issues, that have been discussed. I dont know exactly what you are looking for but on the about tab under bluetooth the version is 1.0.0 Build 2400. I am going to apply the patch and see what happens.
I am using the Jabra 250 and am not currently happy with the perfprmance. After the patch I will try again to use the Plantronics M3000 headset that wouldn't work before.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I still have a few days to return the phone is things don't get better.
I just completed the 3500 patch on my xv6600. The Plantronics M3000 will still not be recognized during the discovery. The Jabra 250 paired just fine. I havent tried it et to see if there is still static or broken connections.
After the patch I did not have any memory problems the bluetooth started OK.
Thanks so much for all the efforts that everyone has put into this forum.
I will keep updated as to how this works after the patch.
darveniza, I think most of us that use patches are using 3500 "C".
TheStove, does it see it at all when searching? That's strange it won't work someone else has had success on PDA2K (which is very similar as far as bluetooth goes).
I just leave bluetooth on all the time. It is fairly random when turning BT on that you get an error. It seems to depend what the phone is up to. I never see any errors just leaving it on and it seems to have very little impact on the battery.
It did reset my "today" background to blank, so I freaked for a second until I set it back.
Will update if I have issues...
edit...
Forgot to mention that I am using the M3500 headset, NC6000 laptop with bluetooth from HP. All recognize, pair, and sync as usual.
I just tested the ring in, out, redial from headset, etc and all work flawlessly and MUCH faster than before (build 2400 was the old one). I also repaired at 8 feet and the range seems to be double to triple what I had before. I can be 15 feet away and through a wall with little to no static.
I patched with several apps in place, no hard reset prior to install.
I have also noticed the lil sucker doesn't wake up until I get a call or I want it to...love it!!
Get me a bluetooth headset profile and I will be in heaven.

After the patch, I tried using the Plantronics m3500. I got it recognized with no problems but it would not connect when the 6600 came out of sleep mode.
I think I'm going to get rid of it b/c the Socket CF BlueTooth adapter doesn't support the headset profile, so it's basically useless to me now.

The patch is a CAB file that you can install on top of (or should I more accurately say, next to) existing patches. It does not effect current stack or profiles at all. It just adds profiles.
It does make one registry change to route wavedev to the added DLL. But I think that is for PDA Audio only (not the phone).

One of the members of that site posted the hacked IPAQ install cab that comes with the HP Bluetooth head phones. They reportedly work on other versions of the "Blue Angel" pda. I installed this on my XV6600. I could see both the new profiles.
My IPAQ headphones arrived this morning. I could get them to pair but afterwards, they would not connect. I saw this patch and loaded it. Now EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT!!!!
THIS PATCH WORKS TO ENABLE STEREO BLUETOOTH HEADSETS!!!
All I need now is to get them working on my Tablet PC. Ironically, the HP TC1100 doesn't work with these headphones... stupid HP

sol, yep, just drag and drop to anywhere on your 6600, then click on it with your stylus. Should install automatically.
I'm so excited about this, I'm getting out of bed, running out to my car 100 feet away in my underware, into 20degree frost to grab my HBH-300...my wife thinks I'm freakin nuts...

heheheheheh....
One more question. Do I drag ALL files, and which one do I click on. Sorry for being "slow"...!!

When you download from the link I provided, you'll get one file. After downloading, copy it to your device. Then tap it once from within File Explorer. That will expand the single file into many files, and place them into the correct locations. A "cab" file is basically an "install" file equivelent for your PPC.
Alright ms... I just gave it a go on my XV (running 3500C) with my HBH-300 and still no audio output thru the headset. I do see the new profile, however (after resetting the HBH and removing it from the XV as a paired device) when I try to connect with the new profile it errors out informing me the HBH does not support that particular profile (makes sense). Now when trying to add the HBH back as a HBH, it will only add as a Hands-free and not a headset (my understanding is that a headset configured device would allow for audio play thru it while a hands free configured device would not).
So, while this patch does not seem to have hurt anything, I don't think it helped for my particular situation either. There still seems to be no way to redirect audio from the XV's speaker into a connected BT headset.
PS: There seems to be two threads now running; this one and one specific to this particular patch. Do you plan to add this new patch info to this thread and will this continue to be the single information point you'll support? I still say this thread should be sticky...
