I appreciate it because you give me some real world info and some choices!!!!

I think I have settled on the HBH-300, but I am such a cheap skate I am looking for "the deal". Doesn't seem to exist right now. I'll keep looking................... But thanks to all for the great efforts and input in this thread about BT.

Any suggestions on getting the Belkin to not disconnect?

I have repeated the tests and I now get disconnected from the headset regardless of manual power off or auto sleep mode.

I have used build 3100 and 3500

Any ideas would be great, if not - guess I am taking the thing back and ordering a hbh-300

Thanks MSWLogo for your work.

Wow, that was easy (so far).

Now, I need to manually install all my apps again? Or can I backup?

Thanks for all the hand holding!!

Jabra 250 was singled out by i-mate as having issues and to contact Jabra.

Latest test on Belkin headset

Hard reset:

Installed 3100 patch
Tested - seemed to work at first, but after a few resets and a little time, result was if 6600 went to sleep on its on or bia manual press of the power button, could not answer a call on the headset. I could place a call using headset though, turn on device wait a second or two until headset icon appeared on the 6600, place call on device, hear call in headset - no issues there.

Installed 3500 over the top of 3100 patch
Tested recieving calls allowing device to sleep on its own and manual press of the power button. Results was when the incoming call starts to ring, headset icon on 6600 appears with a "?" in the headset icon. Pressing the answer button on the headset changes the icon to the normal headset in use icon. I then hear the phone ringing on the headset. Press the answer button again on headset answers the call on the headset.

I will use the 6600 in this configuration for a few more days to see if it is consistant.

I have loaded all my other applications on the device, now the test of time

My latest - Since having trouble just placing calls the other day, and soft resetting the device, the phone part of my PPC-6601 has worked fine.

I remember someone saying he was having trouble transferring files using bluetooth after installing 3500 ver "C", so I decided to make sure that worked today. I created an FTP connection and moved a couple files between my PC and Pocket PC just fine.

One problem I did have today, is I couldn't access Bluetooth Manager or Bluetooth Settings. So I turned on Flight Mode, soft reset the phone, turned on bluetooth, and went into Bluetooth Manager. That brought it up correctly, so I turned Flight Mode off, and tried opening Bluetooth Settings. No dice. SO... I turned on Flight Mode, soft reset, turned on bluetooth, went into Bluetooth Manager AND Bluetooth Settings, then turned off Flight Mode. Now I can access either screen at will.

Meanwhile, the Logitech Mobile Freedom Headset STILL hadn't shipped as of this morning, with an estimated date of Jan. 17th listed. So I cancelled my order, and think I'll listen to mswlogo and get the HBH-300. After all, getting a headset that doesn't work with the phone, however much I like it, will be a true bother.

Thanks again to all here for your work, help, and suggestions. This forum kicks butt.

P.S. My PowerBook can use the 6601 just fine tethering. It's a bit slow, but someone said using a different modem driver might improve the performance. I need to look into that.

I must say the 3500 build is absolutely a huge improvement, thank you very much mswlogo for your hard work and all the testers on here. I think my PPC finally works pretty darn near where it was supposed to work. Poor engineers at bluespoon who I sent many emails to since I thought the problem was the AX.

MS in regards to the hbh300, that thing is huge, wow. I think my 660 is huge. I use my headset while walking around lots of people so like it to be very small. With the 3500 build the AX is absolutely flawless, great sound, no static, and incredible mic. I would consider the 300 for car use as I have a convertible, and have not been able to test the AX with the top down due to winter.

Other than the bluetooth memory error, which was promptly fixed with the flight mode trick, I have had no issue with 3500.

I've searched for this and couldn't come up with anything. Does the XV-6600 support Object Push Profile, either with or without any of the patches? That's the only unanswered question I have holding me back from purchasing one.

I have a 2005 BMW 325 and I need for the phone book to load into the car's BT system. If the 6600 does not do that I will have to stick with my V710.

Thanks.

SpineDoc, Yes you make a good point, the HBH-300 definitely leans towards a car user. If I were walking the streets of the inner city you might want a smaller one. But I have not seen a small one that has great audio for caller and callee and no echo. So no sleep issues with the AX? I'd like to list Headsets that work in the FAQ. And if I list them, I want to list ones that completely work. I've seen many many threads that say my X headset works great except when the PDA goes to sleep, ugh. The HBH-660 has same similar receive quaity as HBH-300 but gives up some send quality to get the size down (boomless).

Well after a week now, I've got to retract my statement that the FS250 works. It just doesn't. The issue is definitely with the headset and not the 3500 patch. Static like crazy, and a range of about 2 feet.

Now the HS820 seems to be ok, but the volume is just too low. I used to have a HBH-300 and sold it on ebay a while back. Sounds like I should have held on to it eh?

Have been using 3500 for a couple of days now and all is not as great as I thought.

Firstly I get the bluetooth memory issue quite often, maybe 1-2 times per day. Sometimes it can be fixed with flight mode, sometimes it requires fiight mode and a soft reset.

Have not had much static. But do have sound quality issues with line of sight. have to do more testing to see if it is the 6601 or my headset.

Sleep issues seem to have improved a ton, but not 100%. Before I would get several disconnects a day, but with 3500 I only get a couple.

I've been running 3500C since the day it came out... on my XV6600.

I have no issues ... no memory error... no sleep issues... and have been using my Motorola HS810 headset, and a DLINK USB card for BT DUNS. Both work flawlessly.

So Ehud, you have absolutely no issues? Cool!

Can you post, stepxstep what is needed to do to get to where you are including the links to the proper builds....PLEASE?

I'm sure there are others that would like to just cut to the chase and have a working version.

Thanks either way!

Not sure if that was directed to me or not. I had checked the first page. I didn't see any mention of OPP.

pjo1966,

No, that was meant for solsavr.

PPC-6601 has no OBEX profile that I know of. I assume the other HTC variations are the same.

Thanks you Guys! I am going to attempt to get a bt800, and see if it works (which BTW, it says on the Jabra site that it is compatible), if not, I'll do the download, and try again, if it doesn't work I'll try the 660...Thanks again
