Hey jamisonwest, How do you like the HBH-660? Does it work with your SX, I mean really work as in wake-up and work when the phone is sleeping, and maintains the connection, or do you have the same issues as everyone else?

Let me know, I would like to order one of these if it works. Caller ID would be nice, but I can wait for that functionality to be fixed if the headset just takes calls!

How do you like it, and how is the incoming/outgoing sound?

Thanks

I have had some problems with reconnections coming out of standby mode, but other posts suggest that the bluetooth patches should remedy that. I haven't tried any new patches yet. The thing handles calls perfectly. Volume and the answer/hangup button work as advertised and sound quality is excellent. I would like callerID, but not a big deal. It would be more important for me to be able to initiate the voice recognition on the phone, then have the headset work as the mic. Right now I have to speak into the phone until the actual is initiated, when audio switch to the headset. I wish this were different.

After extended testing I've gone back from the 3500-124(+3100files) to the 3100 build.

The 3500 about once per day has an issue coming out of deep sleep or something where Bluetooth is unable to start... and I have to use the flight-mode hack to get it back.

3100 does not seem to have this problem.

Note that I did not hard reset. I installed 3100 on top of the 3500 and rebooted.

I know these aren't official patches from Audiovox......anyone deal with audiovox before? Do they release ROM updates like i-mate? patches?

Ehud, I'm doing the same. I just tweaked Build 3100 just a tad to fix the problem that when BlueTooth is off or a Connected Headset is out of range. The Side Buttons cannot wake Voice Command up (from a sleeping or turned off PDA). The problem is strange, It's only the side buttons. If I use front buttons it works.
I really want the side button for Voice command, it just feels right.

So I rumaged through 3100 and found the culprit file. It is Serial_BTUR.dll. If this issue is important to you, you can try it.
Just rename Serial_BTUR.dll to Serial_BTUR.dll1 and reboot.

I don't know if there are other setbacks in doing this. I'll report in a day or so of how everything is behaving with this tweak. This was the only issue I had with build 3100. HeadSet (HBH-300) works pretty damn good.

Also note that after each install you will see DLL1, DLL2, DLL3, EXE1, EXE2 build up. After reboot you can go in and clean these out.

Hey all. Well its been a few days so I figured I'd report back. So far, 3500-124(+3100files) is performing quite well. I've been alternating between a HS820 and FS250 headset (The volume of the HS820 is just too low for most situations). The only issue I've had occurred today and it was after a transfer from the XV to the 250 during a call. The caller could barely hear me, even though they sounded fine. A quick recall fixed the issue.

A side note: what kind of range are you guys getting? The second I put the phone in my pocket, major static shows up. Basically I need to hold the phone within a line of sight for the headset to stay static free. Any one have a similar experience? I can't image that would be patch related...

JasonWilliam,

That is not an uncommon behavior with HS820. It really does not behave well with the current state of bluetooth on these phones. Other headsets work better. Jabra 250 also has issues.

I get about 6-8ft with HBH-300 and PPC-6601

JasonWilliam

Am using a Nextlink AX (new & very small). Also has the static / noise problem. I have to keep my XV on the same side as the ear I have the AX plugged into.

Can someone tell me how to figure out what version I am running on my device? I open Bluetooth Manager, but I can't find "about" anywhere. I want to make sure I am not running 3100 before I try to "upgrade" to it...

Ok, so it does sound like a stack issue then? If so, I'll keep the Jabra... in my opinion, its better looking (no box hanging off my ear/no bright blue blink when on the phone), louder, and sounds better to those on the other end. Also, 2 more hours talk time is pretty important to me.

Thanks guys.

Thanks mswlogo. Others were telling me it was in the Bluetooth Manager somewhere. I am clearly running 1.0.0.2400. I will install 3100 and try it again with my HBH-660 and my Acura MDX HandsFreeLink and get back to everyone. Thanks!

The first version I tried was a file named "OEM_WWE_122_008.sa.CAB". The About screen shows BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 3000. All files show 1.0.0.3000 EXCEPT BTPluginManagerCD.exe is 1.0.0.1 and BTTrayCD.exe, BtCeIf.dll, and BtCeStack.dll are 1.0.0.3001. This seemed a little better on my HBH-660, but still didn't work with HandsFreeLink, so I am trying a file called "BT3500_MAX_PDA2k_Bluetooth.CAB" now.

Jamison, what do you mean by it didn't work with HandsFreeLink?

You are Mixing up Patches a bit.

I believe your phone can take the original i-mate patches.

You can find them here. The first patch you applied is correct. The one you are said you are about to try is an i-mate patch I modified to work on the CDMA flavor of these phones.

You have GSM phone (SX66) which is much more like a PDA2K.

These are the original i-mate patches for their GSM phones which I read do work (i.e. install) on SX66.

I grabbed the first 3500 listed that was labeled "original 3500". There were two more that were modified. Anyway, I will try this one and get back...

That's not the right one. Original means my first attempt. I gave you the links in my previous post. The i-Mate patches don't have the Build number in the file name. The patch will probably install but you may not get the full benefit of the i-Mate patch that was targeted for a GSM phone (like your SX66).

All patches in this thread and this forum are for CDMA phones.

I may have posted this before but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

At first I thought it was only the 3500 build that was causing the memory error on my XV6600 but today I found out that even the 3100 version causes the memory error.

I've hard reset multiple times and it just won;t work - any ideas?

I installed the true original 3500 build on my Seimens SX66. I will let you know how the HBH-660 works when I get a chance to test it. My Acura HandsFreeLink is one step closer, but still not working. Very odd. If a call comes in the stereo dims and I can answer the phone with the car. I can also use the car's voice recognition to place calls. The problem is once the call is connected inbound or outbound the car's stereo doesn't become the headset. Very odd. My wife's phone works perfectly. I am definitely closer, but still no go. Let me know when the next build comes out!!!!
