Well I'm using the BT 200 for non bluetooth phones that I was using with my G-1000. It pairs fine and has worked without a problem. Keep in mind I need a new one because I've had it way to long. I also have not experienced that beep of death everyone is complaining about. All in all it works great. I get a signal in the earpiece even when the phone goes into power safe mode. The phone wakes up rings and vibrates and I get a beep on the earpiece and I can answer it without a problem.
I think I narrowed down when it does not work. Seems to lose the connection, eventhough it says connected, when you press the power button. If it goes off by itself, it seems to be able to connect when it comes back on. Only tried a few times, but that is what I have found thus far.
The xv6600 pairs with the Acura TL Hands Free Link. However, the voice command of the Acura does not work. You must dial the number on the phone and then the handsfree mic and speaker work.
The GPS and Keyboard have worked out of the box with the 2100 build BT drivers
The headsets had lots of problems with the 2100 BT drivers. I tried updating to the 2400 Build drivers and it got a little better. I installed the 3100 build drivers available in another thread and the HS-810 seems to connect consistently now. I have not tried the Jabra again with the 3100 build yet.
Originally posted by xxplosive I'm having difficulty pairing my HS820 with the XV6600. It recognizes the headset but when i try to add it it give me an error when trying to communicate with the device. I'll try charging up the HS820 more before trying again. I managed to get it working last night but when i reset the phone the headset would not repair with the phone. Arrg!
I tried the Moto HS820 but even after the recommended 2 hours of charging, my XV6600 wouldn't even recognize it during BT discovery. I suspect I may have picked up a bad HS820- the XV6600 BT is functioning since I can already BT Activesync with my Tablet PC.
Originally posted by crash to fix headset problems i recommend the 3100 build patch. i connect cosistently now and no memory, expiration problems like the 3500.
The Think Outside BT keyboard does NOT work with the Verizon VX6600. The VX6600 comes with Widcomm BT version 1.0.0 (build 2400). Think Outside requires Widcomm build 1.4.x or 1.5.x . Another user in another thread says the Think Outside BT keyboard works fine with the PPC6600 . Hmmmm, does that mean that Verizon and Sprint are using different BT stacks?
I am experiencing erratic functionality. Sometimes the headset will work fine, answer calls, initiate callbacks, etc (it is pathetic that I can't use voice command with bluetooth but that is a different story)
However, most times when the phone goes to into sleep mode and comes out the headset will stop working (even though the Bluetooth manager thinks that it is still paired and connected). Attempting to disconnect (even after turning off the headset) will hang the bluetooth manager and require a reset.
Anyone have any info of when a patch will come out for this?
Thanks mswlogo. I had no idea Broadcom reset the version numbers.
I just got the keyboard to work. I turned OFF the Bluetooth stack and went to the Think Outside application. Had the application scan for the keyboard and, bingo, it found it and "mounted" the keyboard. A quick check back shows the Bluetooth stack now enabled. Seems that to get it to mount or remount one must turn OFF Bluetooth and use the TO application to scan (and turn Bluetooth on). Yikes, I feel like I've gone back 15 years in OS development and drivers!
Verizon XV6600 (woc)
Logitech Mobile Freedom Headset
Generic (CompUSA/FMI) USB BT adapter w/ external antenna
Everything is working.
Wireless sync must be set up in the bluetooth manager on the phone and the sync process must be started from the phone.
At first, I had the same problems with my headset as others in this thread: I would lose the phone/headset connection when the phone turned off. I deleted the headset setup from the XV6600 and re-installed it using the BT manager. Now it works fine.
I took several calls today, and no problems answering from the headset. I never needed to re-pair or reboot either device. It does not matter if the phone turns off by itself, or if I press the power button. I did not change any of the default settings or mess with the BT stack / software.
Power report: today I had Bluetooth on for 13 hours, made 5 minutes of calls, and used 5 minutes of EVDO. I have 70% battery left.
Today I test drove the 2005 Range Rover HSE. I was able to successfully pair my XV6600 with the car. I received two calls during the test drive and it worked without a hitch. I also made two calls dialing directly onthe touch pad in the car. The car display said "No network" but it worked just fine. I had previously tried this with a MDA II and it did not work.
I'm using hte Broadcom drivers:
BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 2400
I also use at Jabra BT250 and I have not had many of the problems described on this site. It seems to work just fine for me. I think I had one problem with it and I attributed it to a call coming in like 3 seconds after I turned it on. I'm able to turn Bluetooth off and on and it still works. Same thing with the phone, I turn it off and on and it still works.
I just received my Bluetooth module for my Toshiba M205 Tablet PC today, I'll make a post if I'm successful when I get it installed.
If the phone goes into sleep mode the bluetooth loses connection. Once the VX6600 comes back on, I have to turn off the Bluetooth radio and then turn it back on and then everything works. Obviously this is a problem if you want to answer calls on the headset.
Will the patch discussed above solve my problems? I have read this thread a few times and would appreciate if someone could distill it into a reproducible patch.
Happy New year everyone and thanks for the great research.

So far everything works except voice recognition through the car.
But probably just a few bugs, I dont really understand how to transfer my phone list yet.
hossflatus,
were you able to figure out how to transfer your phone list into the BMW? I am considering the 6600 for my 325i. My V710 works (after some fiddling) but I think this may be the better solution for me... as long as I can dial out from the phone list on the car's screen.
