I just started using the HS820 w/ my 6600 sprint and it paired flawlessly and the clarity is actually better than using the phone next to my ear in my opinion. but when I turn on my HS820, the 6600 asks if it's ok every time to allow it to be used. Is there a way to just say "don't ever ask this again for this particular device?"

Still say the Logitech Freedom is the way to go (the smaller one from Logitech). There is noise though, around WiFi. Much less noise than with the Plantronics 2500 I tried, though. However, there is a trick to getting it to repair after having not been paired for a while (like overnight, separated). A headset with a ? mark on it appears on the 6600 top line indicating it senses the headset but doesn't know what to do with it. You have to press the 'on' button on the headset until you hear the beep that goes "up" in tone (beep beep, with the second beep being higher). THen make a call, and it should work. I always try phoning voicemail first just to ensure. ONce it's paired up, it stays pretty well.
Now regarding keyboards: I have tried three of them, and the Think Outside one is best. It stays paired, and once set up, it's great. I did have some trouble setting it up originally. I had to hassle with it a bit. But now all I have to do is open the keyboard and start typing. The keyboard turns on by iteself, links, and works. It's awesome. I have almost a whole computer (I'm a writer and also live by email) with Word, Outlook, etc. in my pocket now. THe other keyboards were BT too, from Kyocera and HP. THey were solid but wouldn't work with the 6600. They were also bigger. You have to get used to not having the number-key row is all, on the THink Outside board, and the Ctrl and Alt and Fn keys are color coded poorly (blue and green look too much alike in low light. They should change that to blue and red).

Well to answer my own NUBBISH question...
In the Bluetooth settings for Accessiblity I chose to allow other devices to connect but only paired devices. then on the Services tab for Hands-Free only chose Enable Serves w/ Authorization and Authenticaion unchecked. I had it set to this but.... I didn't jiggle the handle... I should have done a soft reset. So my HS820 connects flawlessly now w/ out me needing to accept all the time. The Clairty on this thing is great and I'm getting some VERY nice distance. I can walk about 18 paces (walking foot steps) before I lose quality that is noticalbe, which for me means I can leave my PPC 6600 on the cradle on my computer and go do laundry while talking down the hall.

Motorola HF820 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...92010?v=glance
Sounds great in the STI. (very loud car) Other end reports as no background noise. Doesn't come with an AC charger, only a car adapter charger. Needs an adapter if you want to charge from home.
After using the Logitech Mobile Freedom Pro (the one that clips on your ear via a spring loaded earpeice) and having issues with volume of the PDA, I decided to try the Jarbra M500
Big Mistake -- it is constantly scratchy, and the signal jumps from strong to one bar (red) when the headset is two feet away with direct LOS. The Logitech may have set the volume on the 6600 seriously low, but atleast the damn thing worked.
I installed the A2DP/Keyboard patch and then purchased the HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
They work very well. Pairing was quick and painless and the sound was loud, crisp and clear.
If it detects no audio, it will beep to remind you it is connected and alive.
I'm also using it with my laptop. It seems to work quite well. The headphones don't look too garish and overly large. They are a bit hefty. The center button, back and forward buttons actually work and control WMP9 and TCPMP.
I held off for so long because I was afraid of it not working, but I'm pleasantly suprised and a happy camper.
To be honest I wasn't sure HOW to phrase a search for help on this issue:
The issue is that once I connect my HS-820 via bluetooth, I can only use the HS-820 for phone calls. If I power the HS down, the unit will ring but I cannot talk or hear anything from the phone portion of the unit. If I shut the bluetoth off completely on the 6600 I have the same problem.
I can only clear the issue up by doing a soft rest but as soon as I connect the HS-820 it starts all over again. I think this issue may have started when I upgraded to to BT 3900 stack on Saturday but I can't be sure. I am on the road this week and have limited time to play. Has anyone else had this experience?
Thanks in advance. Be nice. I left my flame retardent underwear at home.

I have been using the HS-820 for quite some time. And while I have experienced the typical problematic connection issues, the only thing close to what you describe, is what happens when I turn the volume way down on the headset then allow the phone to power down, or power it down myself. For some reason, haven't bothered to mess with it too much, the volume on the HS-820 controls the master volume (without changing the slider position).
I found that if I turned the volume all the way up on the headset before powering the device down, the volume stayed at maximum.
Sounds like your problem may be a bit different, but maybe this will help.
Good Luck,
Michael

i managed to loose another BT headset, which i am getting far too good at, but thats another thread.
i saw a bluespoon ax2 at radio shack and figured i'd give it a try.
the package includes the bt headset, two ear springs (one large, one small), home charging cable, and usb charging cable.
first off, the earsprings take some playing with to get to fit comfortably. they are made a little long and need to be cut to fit. if you get one trim them very slowly, and only a cm or two at a time, because they're expensive to get more. curling the earspring in the right place for comfort took a night to figure out, but once you do you forget it's there. why? because its small. i mean damn small. this thing is seriously smaller than my thumb. once it's on right, its gone.
it paired immediately, voice is very good without static, even with loss of los across my body. i have not tried it at any great distance.
now two gripes. if you lower the volume during a call the handset system volume gets very quiet after the call. a quick call to voicemail and turning the volume up solves this, or a soft reset.
second, its not too durable. one typical drop resulted in a cracked case and an RMAed unit. they responded quickly, and are happy to replace it, but i have to send it back to denmark...grumble grumble...
so when i get it back i'll post a longer usage opinon.
i had a similar issue with a logitech bt headset after upgrading to the 3900 stack. a plantronics 3000m and the bluespoon ax2 did not have the issue. i also was not able to solve the problem beside soft resetting. wish i had more for you.
As odd as this is, the Sony Ericsson HBH-600 is the cheapest Bluetooth earpiece I have used thus far and yet it has the clearest sound, the least static, the best range for the clairty, and is just the right volume for my loud snowtires on the highway doing 80mph. I got it just as a temp fix until I found a nice stylish one (thought it was the plantronics discovery 640 but the static was unbearable) but I have decided to keep this one.
