It seems there was getting to be a little confusion between the two. The Freedom has BT 1.2, no boom mike, Windstop technology, and is less expensive. Don't know too much about the Pro.

Well, I upgraded the BT stack from 3500 to 3900, and I'm none too pleased.
1. Lost the "auto re-pair" function. If I get out of range or turn off the the headset and get back in range or turn it back on, they do not automatically re-pair.
2. No apparent difference in static.
3. No apparent difference in performance or range.
On one occasion only, I forgot my phone on my desk during a conversation and walked completely out of range. I walked back within about 20 seconds, and when I finally got to my desk there was a "?" under the headset icon but the conversation resumed.
Was there another patch by Broadcom aside from the 3900 upgrade? This should work beautifully, but it's not doing it for me.
I can have fine conversations LOS if it's on my desk, but in the holster on my hip it's often scratchy. Annoying as hell!

Plantronics Voyager 510. Great battery life, great In the Canal Ear piece (I have an STI and it is loud in that car) Background noise is not as good as the Logitech Mobile Freedom but it is a very close second. Only problem I had while driving is when the Driver's window was open there was some background noise. (I wear it on the right ear and the directional mic picked up the Driver's side but not the passenger side window)
Buttons are a little small for mute/power/answer.
Size is large.
Stays connected very well. I have the four ring problem. I still have disconnects but not nearly as many. Turning off the device with the power button still turns off BT. Going out of range and coming back it usually reconnects.
I posted this a couple of weeks ago... with no response. Probably did not get any responses because someone moved it to another forum. I was hoping to get information on it before buying it. I ended it up buying it and received it speedy quick from EXPANSYS USA last Friday. I played with it over the weekend. Since no one seemed interested in it, all I will say is it works awesomely. I am very pleased. If anyone is interested in it let me know and I will post more.
hey jade raven i am very interested in that headset if you could post some stuff on weather you can use the headset with devices that do not have bluetooth both as a headset and/or headphone. can i use it with a regular cd player for example? and how does it fare as a headset and headphone quality wise?

Highly recommended.
If bluetooth turns off when you press the power button your unit is defective, I would get it replaced. It shouldn't do that.
A few months ago someone kindly directed me to a CAB for the stowaway bluetooth keyboard mouse. After a crash, I need it again. Downloaded from Thinkoutside site, works, but not in word. Help is greatly appreciated.

Hey sorry for the delay in responding. I have been away from the forum for a while.
The headphones have a regular headset jack that can make them double as a regular (wired) headset with any device or for when the battery is dead. It is rated for 16 hours of talk or music time though so never really have that problem. So yes it can be used with non-bluetooth devices.
Sound quality is great as headphones... music sound loud... really loud and good bass sound. Movies sound great as well. There just plain is NO crackling at all, very loud and clear. As a headset for calls it is just good quality. My only complaint is that the sound is not as loud in phone calls as it is from music. Don't get me wrong it is still plenty loud and I can hear clearly no static or crackling at all. It just is not as loud as when listening to music. I think that has to do with the phone or the headset profile in the phone though, not the headset itself.
Also, the A2DP profile does not reconnect automatically like the headset profile. You must always manually connect to listen to music. I think that is a fault with our phone's A2DP profile though.

I hope this helps. [/b]
Jade,
Please have mercy on a noob - I've searched and my brain is full. I'm trying to get a headset to play stereo audio from Windows media on my 6600 (think it's called High Quality Audio / A2DP). The "summary of ROMS and Patches" thread (updated 3/19/05)says this is not possible, but I think I've read conflicting reports.
I installed the 2.04 ROM, which I believe includes the "3600 BT Stack." If I install the "Broadcom Patch" I should get the A2DP profile on my device, correct? Is this all I need to make the HT820 play Windows Media over stereo headphones?
Hi, all. I am new here. I have the XV6600, and have both the Jabra 250v and the Jabra BT-800. With the BT-800, everything works VERY well EXCEPT most of the times i can not answer an incoming call by pushing the button on the headset. Does anyone know of a way to resolve that? Jabra says that that model is not meant to be used with the 6600, but everything else works great on it.
On my Jabra 250v, when I wear my phone on my belt (on the same side as the headset) it is VERY scratchy --- to the point of being incomprehensible. If I remove the phone from my belt and set it anywhere within 30 feet of the headset, it works great. Any Ideas?
Any help would be appreciated. I even downloaded the new software for the phone, but it did not help either of these problems.
Thanks in advance.
Ray

I'm using the Verizon XV6600 with BT 1.0.0 Build 3500. I've seen many people with 6600s on this board praising their Logitech Mobile Freedom headsets, so I bought one and now it's not working (paired but no sound through headset).
I'm thinking it must be because this headset requires BT 1.2. Am I right that the headset requires 1.2? Is there a way to upgrade mx XV6600 to 1.2?
Yes, I've searched these boards and Google for answers but haven't been able to find one.
Originally posted by cobraman I'm sorry to be the stupid one here, but what is "FLASHING" ? and how can I do it?
The easy way is to go to Audiovox and download their file. The more advanced (and updated, but hacked) method requires you to read the ENTIRE thread titled "ROM 2.04.00," then go to the website of user EHUD. Honestly, if most of this is greek, then you should prob just do the Audiovox update.
I seem to be having all kinds of trouble downloading HA_VZW_136_116_01151_SHIP.exe (Verizon XV6600 Maintenance Release) from Audiovox.com. I can't get even half of it downloaded before it craps out. Any hints/tricks? My hope is this will help with my issue!!!
Specifically, The issue I have is the Jabra BT 250v headset to work with my XV6600. I'm running
Rom version:1.36.00 wwe
All i get is static even if I hold the phone right next to the headset.
I also have the Jabra BT250v, which works great EXCEPT when I wear my phone (XV6600) on my belt. Then it is very scratchy. But if I take it off my side and set it down anywhere else, it works great.
I did the download of the updated software, but that did not seem to make any difference. Verision told me it would take care of the problem, but it did not. Go figure.

Where did you download it from? I want to at least try the download but i can never get it to be successful. Also, i get the static even if I set the phone down on the table and walk away from it. It's just baffeling.
the above post is where you will find the download.
Verizon tech support was baffled because they sell the BT250v off their verizon site. They said they have NEVER had any complaints about the BT250v. I love this headset, but it drives me crazy to get so much static when the phone is on my side. Otherwise it is the loudest unit I have tried (and I have tried 4 or 5 to this date, and returned most of them), and by far the most comfortable one I have tried.
Currently I use the BT250v (only when driving, because I don't get the static when the phone is in my vahicle cradle) and my favorite is the sony hbh662 with caller ID. That one works flawlessly under all conditions, but does not have vibrate. I even tested (and returned) the Jabra BT 800 with caller ID & Vibrate, but it would rarely answer a call by pressing the headset answer button. All other features of the BT-800 worked very well, but if you have to answer the phone from the phone keypad, what is the sense? I called Jabra, and they said that that model in not fully campatable with the xv6600. That would have been a keeper if it were not for that one problem. I just ordered the logitec mobile pro tonight (the reviews on that one were very good) so I will see how I like that when it gets here. But that does not have vibrate or caller ID. I guess my favorite will end up being the Sony HBH-662 in the end (just wish they added vibrate).
