I had been using the Logitech for about a week when I made that post. Must have been a limited time offer?
I am still very happy with the Logitech Mobile Freedom, although I would like to be able to use it for call waiting and redial of last number.
So far I have been recharging it every other day.

I figured that was the case...a "Special" promotion thing.
OK--I Googled and Froogled and found it for 34.95 plus shipping at this business out of NYC:
I just got it today, via UPS. I could have gotten it yesterday, but I had to sign for the package.
In my brief testing, it worked great!!! I used it from up to 15 feet, through a few big walls and appliances! The sound and usage are easy, and it is very comfortable---10x better than the Plantronics.
My fiance said the quality was good, and I was standing 8 inches from the fan of a air conditioner, with it blowing hard on it---and she couldn't tell. Very nice...

I just installed the 3500 bluetooth stack, and so far anyways, it seems to work better with my HS850 headset. I was having trouble with the phone pairing with the device after the phone went into sleep mode.
After installing 3500, I ran into the memory error, and turned off the CDMA antenna, turned on bluetooth, and then turned the antenna back on. Bluetooth is now enabled.
For some reason, though - my home screen is garbled aftr installing the patch. Anyone ever see this before?
Originally posted by mwfielder I tried all sorts of things---like you said, the main problem is that pocket outlook converts to the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. Tried adding an extra 1 to the end. Works for land lines, but not for cellular, apparently.
As mentioned by others here and in some other threads, after installing the 3500C patch I was pleased to see that I could dial out using the Prius phone. But I was still getting the grayed-out contacts when I would transfer them. The formatting of the phone number was, in fact, the key.
On my XV6600, 10-digit numbers are the only ones that get converted to the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format (even with Estonian selected in Regional Settings). But I can enter 7- and 11-digit numbers in the "radio tel" field and they'll remain unmodified. So I added a "1" BEFORE the area code to create an 11-digit number that the phone can recognize and dial. When I sent contact information to the Prius, the 11-digit "radio tel" number was the only one transferred.
Since I could only transfer one contact at a time, rather than edit all my contacts and have this lame 11-digit number show up in their contact screens, I decided to create one new contact, name it whatever I wanted the entry to look like in the Prius address book and enter only the radio tel #. After transferring to the Prius, I simply changed the name and number to my next entry. Time consuming, but cleaner.
My only issue has been with memory, particularly with Pocket Informant. And every soft reset requires going through the ritual of "flight mode on - soft reset - bluetooth on - flight mode off" or else the bluetooth radio won't start. So, it looks like I have to sacrifice Voice Command because I think that's where the memory problems are coming from. Anyone have an opinion on that?
Sorry for the lengthy post, but I just got so damn excited that I got this thing working. Thanks to everyone who's been experimenting with this stuff!
I am very new to this whole bluetooth and PDA Phone thing so forgive me if my question is very basic:
I have a PPC-6600 with Sprint PCS and I bought it from Ebay. It came with a Palm Treo Bluetooth headset. Apparently the guy who had it before me used it without a problem but I can't get it to recognize. Does anyone have a step by step on how to get the PPC-6600 to recognize a bluetooth headset. Thanks in advance and I apologize for lowering the IQ of this thread.
Thanks to the lightning fast response of you all (I hope you sense my sarcasm) I have fixed the bluetooth problem myself. I use a Palm Treo Bluetooth headset with my PPC-6600 and it works great now, no static or anything up to 30+ feet away. Thanks for your lack of help.
Got the M3000 headset from eCost.com for $45 delivered.
Started at $33, $5 rebate, $4.95 handling, $9.99 2-day shipping.
After only an hour's charge, I got it working. My wife says the sound is excellent, both when I was using it and when we swapped phones. I'm a bit deaf (HA!) from standing next to Navy jets for much of my former-career.
PROs:
1. Inexpensive.
2. Setup easy if one reads the directions first.
3. Pretty light, once you get used to it.
4. Comes w/2 different size earpieces.
5. Once fully charged overnight, NICE volume at max!
6. 20' range with no walls, etc. 15'-20' with walls, gets broken-receive and transmit when approaching max range.
Yes, the other person can hear the static.
6. Inexpensive.
CONs:
1. Doesn't get close enough to MY ear canal for really loud sound in high ambient noise environments. (S+N/N)
2. Takes too long to "quick draw" the device from a pocket, turn it on, wait to re-pair w/PPC AND answer the phone.
3. Not USB capable.
Only got it last night, wearing it now and walking around the house, using the double-tap method for redial to call my voicemail, and leaving 6600 in its cradle in the office.
I can walk about 20' LOS (Line of Sight) before static starts. I can get about 12'-15' through sheetrock wall, 10'-12' through wall with fireplace before static.
Not charged enough last night to do the "wind test" in front of the A/C in the window. Maybe later tonight.
Gotta run to work...!

Those who are using the HS850 with the PPC6600, what BT stack are you using it with?
I am using one in the stock 3500 configuration and getting a very long wait (5+sec) to pair upon opening the headset and crackling static when the phone is more than 2-3 feet away.

I am using stack version 3900 I think the thing that made the diffrence was going to Radio version 1_51 from 1_40 I noticed a diffrence after I did that.

Okay, update #1.
After a few days use, I've discovered some shortcomings.
When the phone is in the standard-issue belt holster on my hip, and the phone is in the opposite ear, there's a lot of static even away from other RF sources.
In the ear on the side of the holster, same problem, almost insignificant difference in static.
When I move the holster over the top of my pocket - more to the front (about where you'd hook your thumbs if you were going to do that...) and the headset in the same-side ear, works pretty good.
Mild breezes annoy the heck out of the other caller, no matter which way you face to or away from the wind.
Works flawlessly when phone is in my shirt pocket. (Duh, huh?)
Some additional impact on PPC battery with 27 calls in 6 hours, total call time 2.2 hours. Last calls were getting "scratchy" on my end, and one failed to go to the headset.
Looking at the DFI HBT headset that SAYS it has voice dialing. Anyone have experience using that headset with the Sprint PCS PPC-6600? I don't have M$ Voice Command, or SPCS Voice Dialing.
Thanks!

I bought the H850 2 days ago. Not very happy with the volume of headset. Of course we all want the VC over BT but then The Man wouldn't have anything to give us for Xmas.
Moving forward here, I was able to pair the 2 devices easily. Extended delay sync'ing w/6100 after opening Boom. Missed many calls till if figured out the trick. (leave boom open or answer with phone then open boom).
I just installed the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BT Update. After it rebooted which was simi glitchy the today screen was askew. After resetting the today screen in the settings I did a soft reset. That fixed that.
I deleted the pairing w/hands free and reestablished it. I found that after doing this I was able to use the button on the HS850 to redial last #. Something I find very usefull.
I think (no proof but bad memory) I saw some cdma radio signal degridation. I dialed the vzn OTASP and did a repro. Not sure if it helped but I have more bars after than before. So we will call that a qusi fix. (makes me feel good).
I have found no other drawbacks but I'm only 1 hour in. I know "...give it time." Eventually I will see some errors.

I'm using the Logitech Mobile Freedom. Works pretty well, and has major volume. Too much, in fact. When you press up the up or down vol button, it goes up or down gradually, so you have to be carefully. You don't know where it's going to stop. Usually one click + will be fine. It just takes a couple seconds to hear the effect.
Pairing is pretty good. Sometimes the Prius' hands-free fights for the BT, but I have now set the Logitech as the 'preferred device' and it's usally ok.
I've been using this headset for about 6 months now. Here's what I've concluded.
Fit: It's an unusual fit, and takes a touch getting used to (and a slightly different technique to get it on) but now I love it. Since it actively holds the back of your ear, but doesnt put anything in your ear, it's the most comfortable headset I've worn.
Also, this design allows for the unit to clip itself to most anywhere. At work I wear it on my shoulder (we have uniform shirts with epilates) and when not at work I just clip it to the colar of my shirt. Also can clip over a belt. Works very much like the retention clip on any ball point pen.
Battery: Have yet to kill it, but I'm pretty good about charging it ever night. I'd say I'm a light to average uses as far as frequency on the phone.
Buttons: The unit has one MFB and a volume rocker. The MFB is useful only for answering initial incoming calls and disconnecting calls you're on. Does not seem to work for call waiting. The volume control works well, but has a half second delay.
Sound: The unit seems to have a good range, but does depend a bit on line of sight. If I loose LOS the amount of static goes up a lot, but the conversation is still workable. With LOS the range is about 20-30 feet. The little foam cover for the microphone is a must for any environment with wind. With the cover it takes a good stiff wind for that noise to be an issue. Outside of wind no complaints on either the reception or how well others can hear me. It is worth noting that if you do have the volume up too loud the unit can echo on it self.
The design of the boom mic is good, allowing you to adjust the mic as necessary, but is also a weak point in construction. I have broken one boom by inadverntantly rotating it too far. (was on my belt, got caught on something else, didn't notice it. I believe it would be hard to break the boom by accident during normal usage)
BT paring: Paring the unit is easy. If you take the phone out of range of the headset, it is easily reacquired by pushing the MFB on the headset (which does nothing else if no call is active), or with about a 1-2 ring delay of an incoming call.
It is also worth noting that I did have an issue with the system volume of my PPC 6600 and this headset. Initially if I used the headset to answer a call, or changed volume during the call, the system volume of my phone would become extremely quiet, to the point of uselessness. An upgrade to the 3500C stack resolved this issue.
All things considered, its not a bad little headset. It's the most comfortable I've worn, and while it has very few features, it does what it is designed to do well, it answers calls.

omg this solves the only grip i had with the logitech
i would press +++++ only to hear it go back down to low...
...so let me get this straight, you just press+ once and it goes to its
highest setting?
